Watched most of the game.

Blunder and company just don't have it; too slow all around... don't close out on shooters well.

It had nothing to do with speed and athleticism and everything to do with making poor decisions on offense. Too many turnover. Poor court awareness and several bad passes. This is a game that Iowa should have won. I won't say that the refs costs Iowa the game, but the officiating was not balanced at all either and that didn't help in a close game. But the turnovers is what did Iowa in.

If you had been actually watching the game and paying attention you would know that most of the shots Iowa gave up were contested or came off players driving into the paint. Northwestern also had quite a few points at the free throw line.

I agree with this. I just started watching around the 8 minute mark. We had a 4/5 point lead and did almost nothing well from that point on. Team looked very poorly coached---unforced TOs, risky passes,
shots that were off balance, out of position---basically just thrown up, not shot.

Team looked very undisciplined and total lack of poise.

I don't see much of them, but see much of the above whenever I do.

Maybe this season is a hiccup but agree. At this point in the season their horrible decisions and sloppy turnovers shouldn’t be happening or at least as often.

They shouldn't be. Bluder needs to use her bench. As great as Monica was at points in the game, she should have been pulled in the first half and Goodman giving more minutes. There was a series of 3-4 traveling calls on Monica in a row. I would like to see Bluder rotate Goodman/Czinano offense for defense when Monica is not on. Goodman needs more minutes in general. I also really think Bluder should sprinkle in the triangle and two offense with Goodman and Czinano both on the floor for at least 1-2 minutes again. Northwestern has no size and having the both on the floor would have given Iowa an advantage. Northwestern was really attacking the glass and I don't think they could have stopped high/low in the post.

The same with Warnock and either Meyer or Cook. Warnock's shots were not there tonight. There is no reason for so many starters to play 30 minutes a game. Meyer and Cook both scored tonight. I don't remember Warnock making anything.

One player did shine tonight despite the loss and that was Kate Martin. Martin has played lights out for most of the BIG season. She was tentative early in the year but has since found her confidence. She does make a few silly fouls here and there but she's leaves everything on the floor and runs the offense well when Clark is out.

Agree. Kind of like watching the IA v tO$U women's game all over again.

I will admit I really didn't pay attention until the second half..

..and yes I know the 23 turnovers is the main reason they got the L but that's not what stood out to me during the time I was paying attention.

Agree on this and thought Martin played really well. I say that with the caveat that there was about 12 game minutes that I wasn't able to see, but when I did see it, she was pretty solid.
And I hesitate to say it because it will sound like bashing on a kid, but Czinano really brings nothing to the table other than her size. She travels A LOT (was actually surprised the officials caught it as often as they did, but perhaps the NW coaching staff pointed it out), plays defense like a street sign, and is basically only effective because of her ability to "force" girls further up the lane to open up that lob pass. I realize that sounds a little like "that fast guy is only fast because he's fast" sort of argument, but hopefully y'all get my gist. She had a wonderful scoring game, has in the past, and will again, but when she isn't able to force her will--due to the officiating or the other teams' roster--she's a significant liability.

FIRE EVERYONE!!!!

Except Clark.....keep her, teach her how to play defense and let her dominate teams 1 v 5 and lead Iowa to the national championship singlehandedly.

Problem solved.

Did you watch Czinano making 17 of 19 shots last night?

Yes, that was the part where I said she had a wondering scoring game. I didn't see all of her makes, or misses, but all the ones I saw were layups. Feel pretty safe in saying that they all were within 5-6' of the rim, which gets back to my other statement.

Monica is great when she can catch and release but she can't make a bb move without shuffling her feet. Goodman is much more natural but her efficiency is much lower. I really think Goodman has more upside. Monica has one move that she is really really good at but if that is taken away she's lost
