Got some texts this a.m. with chatter about a couple more players (possibly OLs) facing a suspension. Could be rumor, maybe not, that's all I know...anyone else picking up on this?

Sounds like Cedrick Lattimore & Alaric Jackson. Not good folks.
New handles always bother me with stuff like this, but I also realize you could be providing excellent info and didn't want to use your normal handle.
Anyway, if it is Alaric Jackson, that would be bad as he would be out of second chances. I would think he'll either be told to leave or suspended for MULTIPLE games?

Yep. Outside of suspensions, if there’s substance to this, what’s also bothersome is the lack of discipline and focus. The season is right around the damn corner! This team is starting to feel like the 06-07 “fat cats” teams that didn’t give a damn half the time.

On the bright side, some backups and youngsters will be getting some quality reps for experience early on.

I agree, but I suppose it depends on the violation. At any rate, regardless of what happened, if he's suspended for a second time he would have to be on a "zero tolerance" policy from here on out.

I have a hard time believing they can get into too much trouble after camp has started. Isn't the team in a hotel with pretty much every minute planned out? No way they are out on the PED Mall or getting OWIs during camp. Girls or booze in their room? My gut says there may be a suspension but not a serous offense.
Kallenberger has a bright future but the kid is small right now.
If there is bad news coming. I am beginning to wonder if there is any vocal leadership on this year's team. All Northern Illinois has to do at this point is watchdog the internet to see who else is missing by kickoff. This was going to be enough of a challenge for an opener prior to suspensions.
Alaric Jackson sounds familiar. Were Nebraska and Iowa competing for him? Or could I be thinking of a different OL?
No good. This is always frustrating, regardless of team. Iowa could have a big year this year. They're probably the #2 in the division with a big opportunity if things come together to get to the CCG. Can't have stuff like this happening.
MSU was the other main suitor late in the game with Jackson if I recall correctly.

I did hear on Monday that Jackson would be suspended. It did NOT just happen, it happened over the summer. Given that there was nothing legally that came out, my guess is violation of team rules of some sort. I was told it is one game, FWIW.

Unfortunate way to start a season if true. 6 starters/co-starters suspended or no longer with team (27%). Good thing Iowa has that Alabama-like depth.
