Nate Jesuroga?

Consider where this is coming from (Mineo) but he's saying jesuroga has quit wrestling and will pursue being a navy seal. First I am hearing of this. Any others?
Also said Spencer was out for the year. Then Spence wrestled vs Iowa St. Last season he reported Kemerer was out for the season, then he placed 4th at Nationals. Dudes a hack, if we all ignore him he’ll go away.

one benefit is that ayala doesn't need to bump to 133 unless he really outgrows 125. could be looking for a 133 to fill the spot instead too. Ben Davino would be my top priority. I like him better anyway. Lilledahl not far behind.

My read is we lose little, if any steam at the lower weights going forward regardless.

If it is indeed true, does anyone think this is some shock to TnT?

Relax.
i think they were probably one of the first to know, but i also don't think it's fair to say the number 1 kid in the country and your top recruit quits the sport isn't shocking. can you name another example of this happening?

Obviously not, but that’s not my point. Doesn’t matter…. You’ll argue about it til the cows come home. I’m just saying I trust the staff with this particular situation very much and have zero worries about how it shakes out.

Unfortunately, Mineo has developed too large of a following for the “if we ignore him he’ll go away” approach, in my opinion. The best way to get people to ignore him at this point is to point out the times he has been wrong (there are many), and point them out often. Preferably loudly.

A couple other really nice names as well…. Keep in mind it may be career ‘33 we’re after. And keep in mind unsigned commits can and do flip often.
who do you like? davino and lilledahl are my top targets.

I’d personally like the brother of a current Hawkeye woman to flip, but I like those names (with solid connections to the team and staff) alot as well.
He's talking about Aden Valencia.

Personally, the way you guys cry about not loading your roster with high end recruits like PSU does, I'd think losing Jesuroga would feel like a big hit for you guys. I personally felt he was a guy PSU wasn't going to be able to match... not that it's that big of a deal. Also, with Ayala having shoulder injury. I'd think having Jesuroga would help shelf the worries a bit. Sure wish PSU had more depth behind Howard. Wo uldn't surprise me if he is never 100 percent because of his shoulder which is why I'll be happy when Lillendahl commits. Oh wait, I shouldn't have said that. :)

It’s true that he’s considered that from what I understand. I don’t know that it’s GOING to happen, unless a decision was made in the last week or two. Certainly could have.

Don’t care what that blowhard says, and anyone paying attention realizes he’s wrong about as often as he’s right. That said, there’s precedent for Iowa wrestlers becoming Navy SEALs. Former Hawk Danny Murphy is quite literally one of the best SEALs the US has. Absolute animal, and I feel a little safer knowing Danny is ready to kick some ass if needed.

I'd certainly take the brother but I like Lilledahl (and Davino) more.

Always wondered how that turned out. Glad he made it through BUDS to the teams.

Certainly not the first I’ve heard of that, but the fact Mineo is saying it makes me hopeful it’s not true. Then again, if he wants to serve his country that’s awesome. I’m sure he’d be great at it. Seems strange to quit wrestling DURING your senior year though instead of finishing it out on top.

Looking through SEP wrestling’s Twitter page, I could not find any of their results that showed Nate competing. I am hoping that blowhard Mineo is wrong but not seeing Nate in any of the results is not a good sign for Mineo being wrong.

Um, not sure how a college degree AND a DI wrestling pedigree doesn't help you accomplish your dreams of being a SEAL. My brother protects the President and trained with the SEALS for years, with a degree from IOWA .... he will also tell you that he learned equally as much about ground fighting from wrestling and specifically Randy Couture!

Jesuroga looks college ready right now so if we lose him that is a big loss. If he’s out we need to go all in on Knox, lilledahl, or davino. I personally think knox is the best of the 3
