Nate Jesuroga?

Jesuroga looks college ready right now so if we lose him that is a big loss. If he’s out we need to go all in on Knox, lilledahl, or davino. I personally think knox is the best of the 3
I'll take #5 pfp and highest ranked junior Lilledahl. World silver and gold plus knocked off Bassett and Forest this year.

Also said Spencer was out for the year. Then Spence wrestled vs Iowa St. Last season he reported Kemerer was out for the season, then he placed 4th at Nationals. Dudes a hack, if we all ignore him he’ll go away.
Where'd he say this? I looked on the tweeter and did not find it.

Um, not sure how a college degree AND a DI wrestling pedigree doesn't help you accomplish your dreams of being a SEAL. My brother protects the President and trained with the SEALS for years, with a degree from IOWA .... he will also tell you that he learned equally as much about ground fighting from wrestling and specifically Randy Couture!
I'm not up on the process but with his degree couldn't he go in as an OTC instead of enlisted? . That would seem to make more sense if the rumor is true? Or flip and go wrestle for the Naval Academy and do both at the same time??

Iowa wrestling twitter called him “signed” on 11/10. Willie still lists him in his rankings. I find it hard to believe that this is anything more than an injury.

Heard he went back to practice this week at SEP. Joel being in town probably had something to do with it. I heard he's been dealing with lingering health issues/constant weight cutting for big off-season tournaments for a while now. Maybe he just needed a break from wrestling and the Sebolt room?

Yeah, I’m saying not a better get ready for the Seals than wrestle at Iowa and get a degree.

Consider where this is coming from (Mineo) but he's saying jesuroga has quit wrestling and will pursue being a navy seal. First I am hearing of this. Any others?
If that's true, good for Jesuroga! Becoming a SEAL is elite to say the least, and what an honor serving our country in that capacity if in fact he makes it through the processes. I know one has to be an absolute stud to achieve wrestling greatness, but becoming a Navy SEAL certainly isn't a given regardless of one's physical toughness. Though I can't speak directly to SEAL training, when I worked in Army Intel I witnessed many amazing athletes try and fail to become part of the Special Forces - Delta, with many of those trying to become Delta not even making it through the Q course. It's no joke and it's not just the physical piece. Again, if our man tries and succeeds, good for him!! :)

If Iowa loses him to being a damned Navy SEAL, it's hard to get mad about that, lol. Bummer from a team perspective, he was a stud and a great fit. If he's going a different path, there are a bunch of great prospects the staff is undoubtedly looking at, with Valencia already being referenced. Not sure if Lilledahl is interested, but he and Knox are also bona-fide studs.

EDIT: my post is based off Gobblin and Chief (nor any others with good info) not shooting it down immediately. Not Minnow, who is, in fact, a moron.

Delta is a different animal like DEVGRU is to the SEALS (i'm sure you know all of that being an Intel weenie). David Goggins (former Navy Seal) went through the Q course but was not selected. Side note If anybody has the time, read his book. Nobody knows what they look for as they don't keep times on timed rucks etc. They do not give you an explanation of why you were cut...just pat you on your ass and send you back to your unit. Partied with a few of those guys and they are not how you'd think they would be.

Yeah Lilledahl is great and I’d love to have him or Davino but I stand by my thought of Knox being the best of the 3. He’s the most college ready in my opinion as he can ride at an elite level, also he majored Lilledahl the last time they wrestled

Losing Nate would be a big loss. Absolutely love how the kid wrestles and conducts himself on the mat. However, if he indeed chooses to do something else, I wish him the best of luck. Also, I'm glad it was done now vs a situation like Nate Skon. You want a kid that fully wants to be at Iowa and in the sport. The SEAL thing is kinda out of nowhere but there are worse goals. Lots of smoke but hope its just a BS rumor and he recovers/gets back on track.

"The long walk".. truly impressive stuff. Insane levels of mental toughness.

I'd certainly take the brother but I like Lilledahl (and Davino) more.
Jesuroga vs Davino (2021 Link). Davino currently a Junior St. Charles East (IL). Davino wins Dvorak last weekend. Bright future ahead.

That was at 106 and he scored most off claw tilts. Lilledahl has had the more impressive recent results.

how so?

Very laid back, humble…at least the guys that I met. One of them looked like your avg, everyday shlub but I’m guessing that can help in their line of work.
A true badass doesn't need to look or act like one to be one.

I tell myself that every morning.

I’ve had a theory about that selection process….

Many attributes required to perform those jobs at high levels are found in a certain population. In general, that subset gets a bad rap, as far as social stigma goes and reputation for (violent) anti social behavior.

However there are many well adjusted individuals with those traits and ultimately that diagnosis. We only hear about the criminals studied in prison, for the most part.

Heart rate monitoring under extreme stress as well as well as other behaviors may give these folks away, to those who know what they’re looking for in a soldier, imo.

Was it Randy Couture who demonstrated this when his pulse went down as he was applying pressure. I think he said he learned it. A learned behavior?

Enlighten me - what certain population?

Enlighten me - what certain population?

I was reading an interview or book about it and it was a SF guy talking about the SF selection process and what SF actually does compared to what the general population thinks they do. Very little of what SF does is actual being pipe hitters. They have to have high interpersonal skills because much of their job is organizing, training local folks I.e the Northern Alliance at the beginning of Afghanistan. Many times, they are the first Americans on the ground…before all the diplomats. He did say that there is small percentage of guys who are the pipe-hitting, direct action type but they usually find a home elsewhere in places like Delta.
