Nearly 700 teachers projected to leave Omaha Public Schools by July 1

I’m a full time hustler and part time pimp. It’s really irrelevant how I’m evaluated. This isn’t about me.
Not willing to share your career, but seem to think you know how to evaluate the effectiveness of teachers. How you are evaluated is relevant. There is no way to explain the differences between evaluating outcomes of students to outcomes in your profession if you are unwilling to share your profession.

When their leaders have kept them too stupid to finish a sentence, I offer assistance. You should try to help your other stupid brethren rather than being an asshole on a message board.
I’ve offered brunch to a fellow in need. No response yet.

Well, that's what they are doing in some cases. Although there's a lot of hidden costs to being a truck driver that takes away from their pay. Like, they have to pay for their own gas. And they have to pay for their own truck, or be leasing the truck from the company they are hauling for. I suppose there are companies out there with their own trucks and just pay you to run stuff from one place to another, but I doubt they pay as much.
Lots of them do pay $80000 or $90000 just to drive.

"Probably"
There will probably be a huge influx of teachers migrating to blue states in the coming years.
Meh, I for one left a Chicagoland area to move back to Iowa. I saved $10k per year in property taxes, bought a better house for less money. Enjoy less traffic, with a state government that is not heading over the fiscal cliff.

Do you have a source for this? It would be great if true, but I haven't seen that anywhere else.
The district my wife works in (she is on the hiring committee), along with several surrounding districts. They are smaller and draw anywhere from 10-15 applicants per position. Applicants mostly from much larger districts.

The real problem is housing at the moment.

In Iowa?

What did teachers do to be called groomers? Be specific.
They have the audacity to, in some places, start a union.
They don't gloss over indignities sometimes suffered by not European Americans.
They don't expound on the indignities suffered by European Americans.
They don't proclaim fascism to be great.
They don't kowtow to the trump crowd.

Can’t you tell?
(at least that’s what another poster told me once….may not be true, but the posting style is dead on)
Idk not really. He’s pretty unique imo. Much more entertaining than typical socialists.

LOL! I know…..there are a few others like him so it is sometimes hard to tell the difference.

I have no proof of his alleged other handle, so I won’t “out” him.

There is no way Omaha will be able find 700 qualified teachers to apply by next year. My wife starts her first year as a principal next year. When I told her about that, I think I immediately saw another gray hair ;)

Nebraska. Not sure on Iowa's situation as I haven't lived there in 10 years, but they can't be too much different, can they?
Iowa passed a voucher bill for private schools and teachers lost most of their ability to negotiate contracts a few years ago. I think Iowa's current government is more hostile toward teachers than Nebraska's, but I admit I'm not up to date on the Unicameral's actions in regard to public schools.

Is your wife's district near a larger community? What is the enrollment?

Omaha is an hour and Sioux City is 35 minutes. Enrollment in the 250-300 range.
