My opinion?

Who cares about Debby?!

(Obviously the Hawkeye freeboard, though. I frequent/lurk on many Big Ten boards...the obsession over Nebraska is so much higher on this board than anywhere else...LMAO)
Gophs gonna get anal raped today. Just lay back and enjoy it. Let it happen, it won't hurt as bad

TCU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nebraska brought a lot of Trailer Park viewers, while TCU puts the
Big10 in the Dallas/Ft Worth Metroplex and the state of Texas, whose economy is bigger than most entire regions of the U.S.

TCU was the answer. Kick Debby out

You know what a shit storm Missouri is in right now?
For real!! That place is a serious dumpster fire!!

Actually, it's fun to keep Nebraska in the B10 and have Iowa continue to dominate them in primary sports (as they did this past season), which will really get under the skin of their thin-skinned fan base. :)

In the history of the Big Ten, which goes back to the 1890s, no school has been booted. Suspended yes, but not kicked out. One school voluntarily left Big Ten sports, the University of Chicago. They remain a prestigious member of the CIC.

Once you are in the Big Ten you are in, even if others may not like it. I was surprised when Nebraska came in instead of Missouri, but I like having the other NU in the conference. I do believe if Nebraska had been fired from the AAU before they joined the Big Ten they would not be a conference member today. No way the Big Ten presidents okay that.

My point is conference expansion in the Big Ten should be considered very carefully. Don't add Kansas or Oklahoma or TCU on a whim. Surprised as I was by the addition of Nebraska I was floored by Rutgers and Maryland. Jim Delaney knows more than I do, they are now in the club.

Another point, going back to Michigan State being added in the 1950s. All new schools have been either in the Big Ten states or adjacent to them. This may give clone fans hope that they don't have to end up in the Mountain West or MAC when Oklahoma and Texas go in their own respective and inevitable directions.

Keep Nebby and add OU, but that is never going to happen. OU is 80% Texas recruits and would hurt them to leave the B12. Horrible post to begin with.

OU would still pull recruits out of Texas. They're on the border and would keep the game with Texas. Could also schedule an additional Texas school game. I don't understand the whole can't recruit outside of your conference footprint idea. Schools recruit outside the footprint all the time. All that matters to recruits is playing on TV, a chance to win titles, and can you get me to the NFL.

In truth I like Nebby in the B1G too. I'd vote for OU and Texas. (Put them in the east and give the west Indiana and Rutgers:D)

Well, the (some of the) B12 wants to expand, maybe Ok can get Tejas to apologize and offer Debbie a sweet effort to get them back?

Wouldn't miss 'em, there's prettier girls out there.

Just curious who's on you list of pettier girls. OU & Texas would an interesting move with immense ramifications.

No it is not actually. Nebraska needs to GTFO. Horrible, horrible state, people, fanbase, corruption, evil, etc.

It is an easier sell when the farthest fans/parents would have to travel is Kansas and ISU. I doubt the trips to WVU are very pleasant for the minuscule that go. OU would still pull decent TX recruits, but the odds of landing the elites gets tougher. If AP was choosing today, Texas-B12 or OU-B10 I think he chooses Texas vs the OU B12 that he selected.

Nebraska, whether you like or hate them does bring a rich history and tradition to the BIG. No, they are not the Nebraska of the Tom Osborne days, a fact that I pointed out on a Husker forum and promptly was banned. That aside, they are a great fit and a national name. Oklahoma would be great as it would add another historic name, as would Texas.

In an alternate universe there exists a Big Central Conference with Minnesota,Iowa, ISU,Nebraska,KSU,Kansas,Missouri,Illinois and Wisconsin.
They compete for a trophy that has corn, wheat and a cow combined in it.

Remember when Mo was begging to be invited to the Big10? Then ISU joined in and threatened legal action if Mo was added and ISU wasn't. It didn't affect the decision to invite Ne, good choice and glad you guys are in the club.

Although I don't like the way they have won the B10 Football Championship every year like their fans were telling us they would, I think they were a good add to the B10 conference. The Black Shirts have revolutionized defense in the conference by allowing 400 yards rushing to Melvin Gordon and Wisky dropping 70 on them. I'm sorry, it just doesn't get any better than that as a fan of Nebraska coming into the B10. The fact that they cling to those 7 losses as being in the final minute in several belies their stupidity. Hey Nebraska, terrible teams took you to the final minute...you weren't very good. Good teams don't let bad teams play with them. Thank you, thank you, thank you for joining the conference. It's dispelled all the B12 is great theories of the past.

Nebraska took Iowa to the final minute as well....... lol

This is a great post though. After the best season in Iowa football history, you're still worried about da corn suckers.

Your basketball team is legit as is gets this year though, very jelly about that.

That's like being the smartest dumb kid.

Yet some want Oklahoma? They are behind Nebraska academically as well, having never been AAU and never been close.

I'd love to have them join the conference, academic fit or not. They are a top shelf football program that could help balance out the west. And the CIC could help their academics improve greatly. I don't imagine the presidents could be inclined to invite them, though. I'm sure half of them held their noses as they nodded 'yes' to Nebraska, knowing that we'd be losing AAU status after we were in.

Oklahoma would hurt Iowa though. The Black Friday game would almost certainly revert to Oklahoma/Nebraska, restoring one of the historic great rivalries of the past 50 years. The ratings bonanza would be too much for the conference to pass on.

I know some Iowa fans and admin/coaches aren't thrilled about that game day, but it IS good exposure nationwide in an uncontested time slot. I see that as valuable for both schools.

Incidentally Iowa has dropped like a stone in the US News and World Report rankings. I remember you guys being in the 40s. The last one I read, you were in the 80s. The last I remember, we were in the 90s. I guess my question is...what happened?

You joined the conference and despite not actually having any real issues on our side, your too close for comfort proximity deducted points from us.

Thanks Nebraska.

They're not as delusional as you guys are though.

So this is what a .304 winning % in football against another school does to the psyche of a fan? Must be difficult to sleep.

What happened to UNL dominating in football and baseball in the Big10? Not to mention the academic disaster. Maybe next year? Or not.

The fiends will never admit that they believed this. The only reason for that is because they want to maintain their false illusions. They want to pretend they are humble, that they are good and deserve respect. They do not deserve such respect though and their history of corruption, covering up rape, allowing unbridled steroid use, paying off local authorities, etc, etc, are example of this.

Lawrence Phillips,.......just saying. Oh and Chris Pedersen also....you know that guy they let on their field in celebration of their 'championships'. Yes, they let a multi-rapist deviant on to their field to celebrate a 'championship'.

They lost the game played on that day by the way. Fitting.

What is a Husker and why do we dislike them? Well,.....

-their own board(censorship unlike any other boards)
-TO himself(practically operates with diplomatic immunity)
-the trolls that never stop over here, always trying to claim superiority, yet they lose to us routinely and they have been noting short of embarrassing in the B1G.
-the whisperings amongst their populace and those who have witnessed their corrupt ways
-literally having nothing but Husker football to validate their existence.

These are factual, impactful and undeniable traits of the Fuskers. Just be glad you aren't one of them.

That response tells me your choice of institution of higher learning was neither Iowa nor Nebraska. What community college did you attend?

Academic disaster is what has happened to Iowa. We've always been around 90-100 in the rankings. You dropped from the 40s to the 80s. You might be below Iowa State at this point. I know...that one had to hurt, didn't it? ;-)

I have no doubt in my mind that Riley will have us winning the west in no time. We lost by 8 points to you, only after losing our starting safety, and Tommy Armstrong turning the ball over 4 times (which led directly to points).

You couldn't run the ball on us to save your lives, and then we had to put a youngster on the field that did a terrible job in run support. You may have noticed it...when your team went from struggling to get any yards on runs, to running for long TDs. Those were the result of the starting safety being replaced with Blow Pelini's recruiting leaving a lack of depth at so many positions.
