Why big weekend for JE? Eating cupcakes proves absolutely nothing after this many years on the mat at this level.

The new kids on the block are different stories, imo. Big weekend for DA, especially.

i’d say it’s big because he hasn’t wrestled well against average competition and now he faces a returning AA who is probably good enough to beat him if he doesn’t wrestle to his ability.

Right on. Which one? It looked like one was unranked and one in 30’s at first glance.

Hasn't wrestled this year and is listed at 149 by wrestlestate
i think he and carr were originally supposed to swap weights this year (carr wanted to go back to 141), but I think the plan has since been abandoned. neither have wrestled yet though. i'm not sure what the deal is.

VS NW:

DeAugustino is good on the mat and dangerous. Was down 4-0 and riding time to Wisconsin and reversed him to his back. Down to McKee as well before getting backs a couple times.

Cannon is tough, physical. Austin will have to bring it.

Thomas is tough to score on and a big strong 149. Max is going to have to elevate his game to win here.

Deakin was out last weekend, not sure if he will be back.

197 Davison was out last weekend.

285 Davison is a big strong heavyweight with good length, good on top Just beat Hillger and gave Cass a good test not long after bumping up at U23s.

VS Illinois:

Cardani is a quality guy. Not as physical as some guys. A guy Drake needs to be beating to be AA level.

Byrd is tough like Cannon, Austin needs to bring it here too.

Duncan has been out. Would normally not worry me if he was back but the version of Eierman we have seen is vulnerable.

Braunagel is a tough guy similar to Lyon but a guy Abe needs to handle.

Cass has never had an issue with Luffman. I expect that to continue.

You don't have time to hate on another program. ISU and Minny keep you plenty busy:)
Not hating cause I've never interacted with their fans. But holy shit! No way for Illinois to be that bad.

BTW: Bitch slapping Minny and ISU fans is too easy. Plus, their fans(some, not all) are dumber than crap.

Deakin wasn't out last weekend. Beat the WI kid, then didn't wrestle against Brayton Lee. I'm sure he wasn't healthy. *insert eye roll emoji*

How can you pick Jaydin by a MD against the kid from NW. Since the beginning of 2019 Jaydin has a grand total of 3 MDs. It's either a WBD or WBF. I think he'll be pissed so I'm taking WBF. Also, I'm taking WBF against Duncan as well. I think Jaydin is tired of reading our shit about how he never scores bonus points against lesser opponents. :)

Cass beat Davison this summer but he has definitely jumped levels. May be a tough match - doubt it’s bonus - likely just a win for cass.

We will find out a lot this weekend, especially DA & JE.
I am curious to see if JE has just been wrestling to the level of the opponent.
if DA can win it’s a big feather in his cap for BT seeding.

Byrd seemed to really frustrate him last year, and I imagine this rematch will get chippy. Will be interested to see how ADS’s chronically busted-up fingers play into it.
He rag dolled Byrd the first time then was close when his fingers were bad but was also close with a nobody from Nebraska that day. Fingers improved by NCAA and Desanto was at much higher level. Out sick last weekend so not sure what to expect or if he even goes. Illness is especially a factor on a high pace guy.

ADS not wrestling Sunday had nothing to do with his health and everything to do with his post-match tantrum on Friday. Not going to name my source so feel free to think I'm full of s****, no skin off my back, but after he left the mat and got to the locker room it wasn't good.

When Tom Brands said it was ADS's choice not to wrestle, he was correct. Indirect, but correct.

I like having DeSanto on this team, but he's got multiple screws loose. It's pretty bad when you have a guy who makes Gilman look sane in comparison. I'm pretty sure we're going to hear DeSanto's name in the news someday, unfortunately.
Say what you will about how you feel about Desanto's behavior on the mat (and a few minutes before and after he gets calmed down after he leaves the mat), but his behavior off the mat has been nothing but courteous and respectful to anybody who's been around him, and all the kids at the kids camps have absolutely loved him.

Something about his being on the spectrum mixed with wrestling turns something loose in him on the mat, I will admit. But saying he'll be on the news someday is way off, IMO. He's a great kid overall.

This was an absolute shit post and you know it. Nothing but slander with the thinly veiled and ominous threat of Austin making unseemly news some day.

If you're going to throw this trash out into the world, then you better come at it with something more than "Not going to name my sources so feel free to think I'm full of shit."

Because with that line, that's exactly what everyone is going to think.

If this is true you have to look at it from both sides. Everyone wants Austin to wrestle with the intensity and fire that he always does. That is a mindset and can be a very fine line between flipping the switch on to wrestle and off when he is done (I seem to remember a set of twins that didn't handle poor performances very well and turned out ok). He seems to have figured out how to control himself during matches, but struggles after they are done. I would rather this way than how he used to be. Losing control out of the limelight and public view isn't the end of the world. Serve your punishment and move on. People expecting Austin to be the tazmanian devil on the mat and switch over to a calm and collected college kid as soon as it is over are being a little unrealistic. I don't think you are going to get the best of both worlds with him. Saying he will end up in the news some day is a bit over the top imo.

I'm fine with that. Like I said, take it or leave it. Sounds like you're leaving it.

Were you there, by any chance?
No I wasn't and it definitely sounds like you weren't either.
Not naming a source is fine, but if you're playing that game then at least throw in details; make it believable, instead of this ambiguous drivel.

You've been on HR for 2 months and you've brought very little to the table and the "insight" you have, you've mostly shit talked Young and DeSanto. When you aren't focused on those two you're act like a Debbie Downer and lock in on politics and covid.

Lol. Never claimed to have any insight and never claimed to "bring anything to the table." I said three times now it's fine if you don't believe me. You do seem mad at the possibility that it's true, though (it is).
"Never claimed to have any insight and never claimed to "bring anything to the table."???

But that's exactly what you're doing, bub.

And I'm definitely not mad. I simply call out Morans when I see them.

He may be Mineo.

Does running up in the stands like a psycho and threatening to kill a parent, "If not today I'll get you someday..." after a match count as behavior off the mat, or are you putting that in the window of time he's allowed to "calm down?" It's a damn good thing Terry was there or someone was leaving in handcuffs. There were kids there, btw...

Because I was sitting 10 feet away from that one at Luther with some Platteville parents who are co-workers of mine. Is that close enough?

Look, spectrum or not, he can't control his actions...and someday I think it's going to end him up in some bad trouble when TnT and a whole bunch of other people aren't around to corral him. I honestly hope it never happens and I hope he gets himself sorted out as he gets older.
Can't tell if you're Mineo or crablegs.

I was there and sitting close to that parent. Desanto gave him a nasty glare and said some words, a coach grabbed him by the neck and took him out of the gym. Desanto was up in the stands 15 minutes later apologizing to that parent and all was well. I watched the whole thing and there wasn't any threats of killing anyone.

I have read other accounts from people right there at the time that pretty much agree with your account.

Seems someone else is saying your version is bullshit farther down this thread. Someone else who was there. No one believes you. I'm guessing you weren't close to the locker room last week either. You have zero credibility.
