5 star vs no star. Guts vs no guts. We never play anyone in order to find out how we measure up until a bowl game. you need to play someone early to find out what you have & what you don't. This will never change, however.
Well don't let this buzz go to waste. Go get a nice frustration screw at half time. If you light a candle, it counts as an offering to the gods. Maybe it will help the hawks. Couldn't hurt.
At this point, all you can hope for is a Stanford turnover to get ya some points or Iowa can hold them where they are at at put themselves within a score or two headed into the 4th.
Actually, Bama IS that much better. They didn't even have to run the ball to take the soul of MSU.

I agree we are not as bad as we look, but we are outclassed. We over achieved in soft B1G and MSU for most part was same.
OSU and Stanford would be a close game. Iowa would probably also get rolled by Notre Dame given the way we are playing today.
They are smothering the short routes and daring us to throw deep. CJ has to go deep. O line is also getting its arse kicked.
This has to be top 5 of most embarrassing Iowa performances ... Ever
Why is this such as complete surrender?? Losing is one thing....but losing like this is so painful.
Not to make excuses, but it's obviously the Rose Bowl is a bowl game like no other, with all the festivities going on leading up to it, and Stanford has been in this game recently and it looks like they've figured out how to balance dealing with those festivities and focusing on the game as well. Rose Bowl "experience" has helped them tremendously.
Someone needs to make a run to the Nike store and get better cleats for the team. They are sliding around like crazy. I thought we were embarrassed the last few times to the rose bowl....this is an epic beatdown.
Problem is the oline isn't giving CJ enough time for those plays to develop.
How did Northwestern dominate Stanford like they did? Maybe the "time change" theory is for real.
Umm that's why we have to throw the effing ball and go for it on 4th. Do something different for God's sake!
