Why don’t the Cubs release Brandon Morrow and call up Colin Rea. Morrow is not going to pitch this season.
why would they release him? hes not taking up a roster spot.

This Oakland team may not necessarily hit for high average, but they do seem to be able to "erupt" rather well. Good defenders mostly, damn good bullpen, seems like most the entire lineup hits for power.

Well, on the bright side the bullpen looked good last night. 
After getting curb stomped by an AL team... that's kinda funny.
At least the Cubs held Oakland under 2 touchdowns.

Underwood, Holland, Davis (C) went 5 innings — 3 hits, zero ER.
Wow, I turned it off long before this happened.
Had no idea they put Schwarber in at C.
I think most people (at least someone like me) has forgotten that Schwarber was a catcher.
I see that KB hit a 2 run homer while trailing 11-0. Nice of him to keep his stats looking good, but he can't hit the damn ball out of the infield in a clutch situation (if he even makes contact.)
Because Oakland's hitters were worn out from hitting and running the bases on Lester. 11 runs in < than 5 innings can wear a team out.
I'll grant the limited sample size, but I think Happ has shown a better approach at the plate. 27 plate appearances, he has 6 walks and 6 Ks. I'd still like to see the Ks reduce more, but his K rate is down from 36% last season to 22% so far now and his walk rate is up from 15% last year to 22% so far.
We'll see what happens as he gets more work, but the early returns are definitely positive.
Kris Bryant is the weakest hitter in the lineup other than the pitchers.
