It’s interesting on Shaw - from a value perspective, I do hope he sticks at SS, but it’s simultaneously true that the SS job in Chicago is unlikely to be available during his ML emergence window. Obviously a lot can happen between now and then, but I probably won’t lose much sleep if he slides to 3B or somewhere else. As noted, pile up talent and let it sort itself out.I like Santy. There's something to his delivery that needs to be ironed out, but he has good stuff. And, can you ever have enough left-handers?
The interesting thing about shortstop in the system is it's deep, and getting deeper. If Shaw can stick what a plus!. You have Hernandez playing 2B to make room for Rojas. Ed Howard still has a shot if his health holds. And, the Cubs are tied to IFA SS Fernando Cruz, who might be the best prospect of his class. Now, that system is scummy, but, it is what is is.
Keep drawing in the talent and let it sort itself out. That's how you wind up in a position of strength, and can trade away a decent prospect like Kevin Made.
Good for you. Was just making fun of anyone who'd take issueMy middle son is gay and Apple didn’t post my pride logo until the end of June, so I said eff it and left it up.
London was turf? I never noticed. I thought they used that stadium for soccer?Strange. MLB standings says the Cubs have played 6 games on artificial turf this season.
Ronny is forgetting about the artificial surfaces in Miami and London.
To your point, though, this ain't the '80s no more. Only other parks with artificial surfaces are Tampa Bay, Arizona and Texas.
I just know that MLB has those games listed as artificial turf games. And looking back at highlights, it does look artificial. Possibly installed just for the baseball game?London was turf? I never noticed. I thought they used that stadium for soccer?
Was I the only one who saw this & wondered why you were providing a link to some porn?x.com

I remember Ian Happ said in an interview that it was super hot on the field in London because of the turf.I just know that MLB has those games listed as artificial turf games. And looking back at highlights, it does look artificial. Possibly installed just for the baseball game?

Cubs really need to handle his situation delicately. They'll have a hard time keeping him out of the Majors next year if he continues to tear up AAA, but I think of situations like with Kilian and Mervis and I really don't want him brought up too quickly (and he's quite a bit younger than those two). And when he DOES come up he needs to be playing everyday, and the Cubs outfield is already crowded, especially if they re-sign Belli like we all want. Will be very interesting.

My guess would be "no" for a 2023 callup, much for the same reasons as Bryant and Mervis in 2014 and 2022, respectively (combination of roster and service time management).Does he get called up?
I’m hoping for a no pressure very late call up this year (after AAA ends or close) to mostly play D when we have a lead and pinch run in a playoff race. Obviously give him some AB’s but not in big spots unless he earns that. Every playoff team needs a guy like that and it’s a good low pressure way to expose him to big league pitchingCubs really need to handle his situation delicately. Certainly a possibility, but then what do you do with Mervis? Does he never get another shot? Trade him and watch him mash somewhere else? Then there's O. Caissie and hopefully B. Davis and A. Canario that may be finally ready for the Majors next year, too. Just a lot of difficult decisions to be made by the organization.Have a Belli play 1st

You try and trade Happ and Suzuki or release them.Cubs really need to handle his situation delicately. Canario is looking healthy at AAA. He hit a 450 foot shot this week. It’s nice to have actual talent at the AAA level.
Both guys have no trade clauses and they’re both way too good to just release. That’s crazy talk. You try and trade Happ and Suzuki or release them.
No, those games against the Sox this week are at Wrigley. They played on the South Side before the trip to STL.The split on the road trip is acceptable. They left one on the table agains the Mets, but 2-3 from a quality Blue Jays squad is a good way to come home ahead of a day off. And, yes, technically they are on the road at the White Sox Tuesday and Wednesday.
