Pics aren't posting! Why would a pic display when I insert it, but then appear as a red x when I post it??? Finnigan Fairway retiring with a sad. I'm using postimage fwiw.

Southern Hills is such an underrated course. I saw Tiger beat Ernie and others for the PGA; it was over 100 by 8 am. Just brutal temps.
I checked Golf Digest rankings and SHGC is still ranked in the top 30 (28th). Thought it may have slipped further. Thankfully the PGA was moved to May. The 2022 PGA at SHGC actually was a little chilly at times. Yesterday we got a great break, after morning rains temps topped around 80.

How did your mini golf vacation turn out, Hope you had a great time!
Turned out awesome, such great weather!

Greens were fast all weekend.

Loved TCI.

Otter was fun too but so windy.

Almost dunked one for an ace at Coldwater. Divot was a half inch from the hole, no idea how it wrapped around the pin. It rolled out a good 10 feet but still got the birdie.

Waveland was a perfect best shot course with the amount of blind shots.

Achy, sore, and drank too much, but a great time nonetheless

Anybody have any recommendations to relieve arthritis/tendonitis in your fingers? Happens about this time of year that middle finger (the FU one) on my right hand (trail hand in swing) and to a minor extent the third finger really start flaring up. The knuckles will ache and burn and damned if hitting a thin shot doesn't just make my fingers hurt terribly. Also get afflicted by Golf Trigger Finger after a day on the course where my fingers will cramp and seize up. Mostly happens on very hot days and associates with dehydration. Usually much better after plenty of fluids and disappears overnight with rest.

First thing I am looking at is changing my grips to something a little more shock absorbing. Right now I play Golf Pride Tour Wrap standard size grips. About time to change out my grips anyway and looking for something that absorbs shock and has better gripping when wet/moist so I will naturally not grip the club as hard.

Any other suggestions appreciated. No, rest and cutting back playing will not be one of them. Plenty of time for rest in November, December, and January.

I’m no doctor, but maybe try sizing down the golf glove (or gloves for both hands) to act as a compression glove?

Wear glove on top (lead) hand, left hand, which is fine. It's the middle fingers on my right hand.

First and foremost I would have a Dr. check you out in regard to hand issues.

I have these grips on my woods in midsize. Very shock absorbing, I may use them on all my clubs next year.

I also use the GP tour wraps on my irons in midsize, For me I like midsize because I feel it helps me lighten grip pressure.

Eat a banana everyday!

Take ibuprofen before you start playing. Relieves the swelling. And drink a Gatorade or something similar while you're playing.

Love the Golf Pride Tour Wraps - I don't think that is the issue.

Voltaren helped me with an arthritic thumb.

Tough to disagree with that.....

One could argue Walter Hagen or Gary Player over Bobby Jones on a purely results based decision, but Bobby Jones impact on the game of golf as a whole was more than just majors won.

I'd put Arnie in front of those two, because of his immense popularity & bringing the game to the blue collar man. Might put him in front of either Hogan or Jones, bur would be tough to knock one of them off

Tough to say anything bad about Arnie, but Gary Player with 9 majors (to Arnie's 7), including the career Grand Slam gives Player the edge I would say.

One could argue while Arnie did bring the game to the working man, Player was the first real international golf "star"....all black attire, the leg kick and all, etc.

(Hagen just doesn't do it for me even at 11 majors, considering his first major was in 1914.....)

Just a heads up. Noah Kent has made the Quarterfinals of the U.S. Amateur. He is a Hawkeye and will play for a spot in the semifinals this afternoon, I believe he tees off at 2:30, Peacock has coverage from 4-5 then the Golf channel picks up the coverage.

Noah wins 3&2, Another Hawkeye final four!

So on the US Amateur broadcast, they showed Noah Kent’s uncle and said he was a former Hawkeye linebacker. Anybody know who that is?

Was curious also mentioned him several times but never said the name or the years he played

God I love this stupid phuquin’ game! It’s a combination of my first piece of ass and my second divorce…..every time I tee it up! And to think my mother introduced me to the game!!! Damn near 70 years ago!
Today I played…kin the heat and everything! Played a course that suits my eye and my declining golf skills. Started off “ok”…a sloppy bogey, a couple of solid shots, a few pars…and plenty of water/Gatorade in my cooler….I was +1 after 13 holes….a couple of nice birdies…and honestly I was looking at finishing with 2-3 birdies on the last 5 holes for a very nice round…..HOWEVER, golf is golf and that means 18 holes…..I could tell the heat was taking its toll but I was hoping to “gut thru it” to the finish….Just missed a shot t wedge into my 14th hole, spun it back into a really shit lie in the right…a mediocre pitch and an easy bogey….A really shitty (“no legs/tired swing) on the par 3 15th lead to another bogey…..a pissed away birdie on the 16th, another really y shitty all-arms/no lgs pitch that rolled over the green on the 17th and another smoothe bogey…the last hole, a nice snap hook, no-leg drive, a good second shot about 50 yds out on a par 5…..so I shank a PW, chip up miss the putt and make a damn 6!
Finished +5 (missed my age by one shot)……and had nothing but “boy did I phuque that round up” thoughts during the post round “settle up”……
Who invented this damn game? What kind of perverts were they?!
