*****Official IOWA at Rutgers Game Thread. 7:30 pm CT. BTN*****

I hope the Hawkeyes are more aggressive against Rutgers overly-aggressive defense so they can draw in a lot of fouls in the 2nd half. But I don't think it will matter because, you know, refs.

Going to be a rough second half with these officials. Every borderline call is going against the Hawkeyes. That being we have played solid defense. It's a bit surprising we are ahead in such a low scoring game.

Watching the replay, I question if Joe got that shot off, but that last frame was super blurry.

They counted the basket LIVE, so not sure how you overturn. Unless you don't need conclusive evidence in Bball to change a call. Replay rules are all sorts of messed up

I haven’t noticed the refs all that much. Lot of “play ons” but at least they’ve been consistent. If the Hawks lose by two I’m going to have a bone to pick though!

its pretty telling when Robbie Hummel says RU is fouling and that RU is daring the refs to call a foul each and every time

remember when there was supposed to be freedom of movement?

instead, RU said fook it and is playing Izzo ball

Did you see the last game? He was pretty darn good in both halves of that one.

He's actually coming along okay. He still struggles against big bodied posts but he's done fine in the last few games. This could be another big road win if we clean up the offensive side in the 2nd half.

he is soft, makes bad decisions, does not rebound, and is very mediocre on defense but his old man will play/start him regardless.
I don’t think Pat’s soft, I think he’s still not very strong and not skilled enough to make up for it

Iowa needs to match that. Force the issue. Iowa didn't even have 7 fouls in the half.

Yeah, he needs to finish strong. What bothers me from time to time is his dribbling around, picks up his dribble, and passes off with very little time left to shoot. Needs to work on getting rid of the ball quicker.

and PMac continually throws up wild shots, with no touch, where there is little chance they go in

A) if JT goes up on left side, he probably gets fouled.

B) not one replay convinced that was going to count.

C) How on Earth is Iowa leading this game? JBo and PMac are such defensive liabilities.
I wouldn't blame defense tonight

Now their offense.....lol
6 9 and can't score at the bucket. The other is a shooter, airballing a 3 and shooting poorly overall

It was interesting watching Chris street games today at how the game is called so much differently in regards to freedom of movement.
