Obiously Clark will start. But the other four starters.
Can’t disagree. I’ve been hearing for years we have better athletes coming in. Never seems to be true. This is a flat out ass kicking. Clark looks like she’s already given up. Might as well try to do what she did against Michigan. She’s playing way to passive. Don’t understand what’s happening.

I think this is the day my optimism about this team's future died. They just don't seem to care on the defensive end. If the offense isn't shooting the lights out, they lose to good teams.

We aren't going to go to an Elite 8 or Final 4 with this roster. At this point, we might need some luck to get back to a Sweet 16.

The writing has been on the wall all season. We were struggling in stretches with rebounding and shooting even against poor shooting athletic teams in the non-conference. Syd and Addi have shown flashes. Next years class is very highly rated.

As good as Clark is man she can be a turnover machine. 19 points 10 turnovers.

The team as a whole is careless with the ball.

Maryland's largest lead: 20 points.

Iowa had the ball & was down 66-61 with 6:10 to go and they turned the ball over.

Clark had 10 of Iowa's 19 turnovers.

Maryland wins 81-69

Turnovers:
19: Maryland
19: IOWA

Total Rebounds:
46: Maryland
31: IOWA

Offensive Rebounds:
19: Maryland
11: IOWA

And anybody not named Clark was terrified to shoot. im thinking that Czanno is a real liability on defense. she just gets pushed aside, can’t hold her position. Can she jump an inch off the floor? Play Addy.
I love Monika but I was kind of happy she fouled out so Addi could come back in and play. She's only a freshman but is already way better at rebounding than Monika. She follows her shot too.

IU lost tonight so if we had beaten Maryland, we'd have been just ONE GAME (in the loss column) OUT OF FIRST PLACE.

And yesterday Michigan lost to N'western.

Iowa desperately needed this game for their hopes of a B1G Championship and they lay one big ol' egg.

Tonight's Results (courtesy of @Alum-Ni ):
#13 Maryland 81, #22 Iowa 69
Nebraska 72, #5 Indiana 55
#18 Ohio State 86, Illinois 67

Current Standings (courtesy of @Alum-Ni ):
1. Indiana (18-4, 10-2)
2. Maryland (19-6, 11-3)
2. Michigan (20-4, 11-3)
2. Ohio State (19-4, 11-3)
5. Iowa (16-7, 10-4)

Caitlin and Monika both had off games. That happens sometimes. They will bounce back. Wish they had won,but they still have work to do. Coach will get it done.

Even when shots are not falling, solid defense and taking care of the ball would keep this Iowa team in EVERY GAME. The problem? Iowa is poor at both.

Iowa, even with all their struggles offensively vs Maryland, had the ball & was down by just 5 (66-61) with 6:10 to go and they promptly turned the ball over.

19 turnovers and a MINUS 15 rebounding deficit was just too much to overcome. The almost 10,000 fans who showed up deserved better than this.

Turnovers:
19: Maryland
19: IOWA (Clark had 10)

Total Rebounds:

46: Maryland
31: IOWA

Offensive Rebounds:
19: Maryland
11: IOWA

Happy for the Frese's. Good win for Coach Frese coming back home.

Unfortunately some of the jackasses on this board haven't been so welcoming. Maybe they don't know Coach Frese is from Cedar Rapids. Or that her father just passed a few weeks ago. Have some respect.

The Frese's are one of the most important families to women's basketball in the state. Coach Frese's teams always play very hard, play together, score a lot of points, and have fun. Not to mention a national championship.

You're welcome for the history lesson
