Dylan Fishback. 15 seed at 184 this year; finished r12 with a 4-0 loss to Allred.

Wrestled 195 in high school. Could be a possible 197 option. From Ohio.
Agree he could be an option at 197 . But being from Ohio this looks like a replacement for Rocco

We are reaching dangerous levels of expectations for Ludington on here. He's a great recruit. Expecting him to be ready to AA as a true freshman at 197 is a lot to ask. Fishback would be a fine stop gap.
Not sure Ludington will be a full sized 197 this year

Could be absolutely nothing but he competed up at 190 and 195 in HS where he was a beast (lots of notable wins over top ranked guys, Rylan Rogers, Seth Shumate and Gavin Nelson) then cut to 184 in college where’s he’s been a bit underwhelming. His social media has a lot of Christian based posts. Iowa recently has been a great draw for faith based wrestlers as of late. I haven’t seen a lot of that out of the Buckeyes. I don’t have any inside knowledge, just trying to play detective.

How many years does he have left?

Not so long ago, Ludington wrestled Jordan Chapman, a talented 175 lber who bumped up to 190 to take on Ludington (and a Rutgers recruit), in a very close match. Ludington won with a last second takedown, but he was very fortunate that an earlier takedown on the edge by Chapman was disallowed, and he was ridden for several minutes during the match. No doubt Ludington is a great recruit, but it's pretty obvious he needs to work on foot speed and getting out on bottom before he's ready for the big time. A redshirt year battling Ferrari and Buchanan would go a long way.

The best option would be Jaxon Smith - he wrestled 97 last year. Tell Tom and Gabe to start tampering, you know that's how we do things. ;) Or Allred but Pinto messed that all up
If we are looking for a 1 year transfer, Mac Stout from Pitt, fits the bill.
He finished 7th this year at 197 and I believe has one year left. 27 - 4 reocrd with losses to Branacal (OT), Beard, Little (OT) and Ferrari 2 - 0, so he is more than capable of being in the top 6.
No idea if he is looking for a change, his brother wrestles at Princeton and they faced off in the 2nd round of NCAA's.
I'm sure TnT have thought about all possibilities.

He has two left, but I wouldn't hate it.

While I don't disagree about the redshirt, kid did bonus Chapman a few weeks earlier 16-6. Here was the discussion about it a week ago.

Bates NW and Sollars Ind are the only top 20 guys who have 1 year remaining and neither are in the portal. I like Bates but I don't see him leaving NW. It's a game of wait and see currently with 197. See who all gets in before May 2

The obsession this board has over a single close win is weird.

EXACTLY.

Every wrestler has "bad" wins. Watching the match, you can tell something was up with Ludington. Mentally, physically - he was off. But figured it out and still won the match. Hell, he might have just pulled a little high school Kobe - make it so he need to pull it out at the end just so he knows what it feels like.

And eating and spending many hours in the weight room. Drake needs to join them. If he had more horse power to go along with his length and skills, I don’t think the Byrd match would be close. Harvey didn’t look like a huge 190 this year, nor did Miller.

Not sure what Chittum brings to Ohio State with Cannon at 57 and Gallagher/e'Than Birden at 65. Unless Gallagher plans to be an undersized 74, and Cannon moves to 65.
Yeah, I don't get it either. Cannon must be huge at 157 and want to move up. I'd take Cannon over Chittum in a heartbeat (maybe he's willing to enter the portal?)
