Sad. Hawks should go wrestle them at Campbell next year and fill up the arena. Hope this somehow gets overturned.
Weird. The tweet by Pile claims they are cutting down to three scholarships but not letting athletes on scholarship compete on the team?
Not good. Going to get worse. NCAA has completely ruined college athletics.
Correct. One of the most disgusting things I've ever heard. If they continue to compete (because the school can't take away their scholarships) - they will reduce their scholarship by 75%. If they choose to just go to school - they will keep the current percentage for the entirety of their time at Campbell.

I'm sure the wrestlers will be entertaining other universities if the program is dropped. If I remember right, we were talking about Stanford wrestlers right after their announcement a few years back. Hope the best for all of them and that they find a team.
If they're cutting from 9 scholarships to 3, then I suppose the thinking is that current athletes' scholarships are cut accordingly.
Common sense and decency says fulfill the promises you made, cut going forward. But I'm neither the president nor AD of Campbell, and no one asked my opinion.
d1 wrestling doesn't grow because of campbell, it grows if schools like oregon, usc, texas, florida,and iowa state field d1 wrestling teams
Is the scholarship/contract annual? I can't imagine these kids would have to pay tuition after repping the university already.

Well not really here to defend the NCAA but the courts seem to have shot down there guardrails and it seems like they’re washing their hands of it.

My cousins grandson is/was the Lehigh heavy, Nathan Taylor. He tore his mcl and had some other damage last weekend. Hence, the motivation. I don't know any details of the kid transferring in
NC st kid who was the starter last year. Couple time NCAA qualifier and R16 2 years ago. He beat Luffman IL at journeyman 2 weeks ago
Trephan is a 6th year senior, so this would be a grad transfer. Good for him plugging a hole for Lehigh after Trumble forced him out of the NC St lineup.
Look how much better they all practice because of all those windows and the “natural” light!
They’ll be staring at the view instead of wrestling. If Iowa had a big bank of windows overlooking the parking lot, we would have hundreds of fans set up outside watching practice every day
