Iowa held a big ten team to 55 points.. I’m gonna cry!! A decent BIG team at that...
Iowa played a lackluster game and still beat 6-2 Purdue by 15. That's not too shabby.
Look so so and win by 15. This team is good.
Yup. Good D effort. Still not scorching the nets but the D was the difference.

Won ugly with a team that wants to play ugly. Beat Purdue at its own game.
Well I was wrong, it happens once and a awhile. Though Purdue would have more offense to pull the upset.

It ended up easy win, but it could have been a tough game. Purdue is 38% 3pt shooting team and they missed a bunch of open looks.
I will say that the defense looked better effort wise. The defensive rebounding was MUCH improved. That is key to improving the defense because zone hold teams shooting percentage down but you get killed if you only get 60% of the defensive rebounds like they did vs Gonzaga.
That effort will win them a lot of games. Great job by Iowa on the defensive glass. There will be other games when Iowa shoots much better. But they won by 15 against a team ranked 26th in the Pomeroy rankings, and they didn't have to shoot great to do it.

He's a solid tweener, closer to a 2 than a 1 IMO. Good player, don't get me wrong. But why JT doesn't start at PG is just silly, which it sounds like we agree on.
Luka was doubled and tripled constantly. He still ends up with 22 and 9.
It was obvious that Purdue came into the game hoping to keep the score low. They held the ball until very late in the shot clock all game. Keeping us out of our fast paced rhythm kept the score close most of the game.
Only 56 shots and 14 free throws tonight. Only times that Iowa has shot fewer than 70 shots they’ve had at least 25 free throw attempts. If the Hawks can defend and rebound when teams slow the pace down on us, and play like we do when teams run with us, Hawks will lose VERY few games this year
Ok semantics. I'd rather have Cmac handling the rock when he's on the court, and not running off screens or standing in the corner waiting to miss a three. That's just me though. Yes, Joe T should be getting at least 30 mins a game. I think everyone agrees on that except for Fran.
You know, F McC took over a program on a three year streak of most losses in school history and now we're in the top 10. Clearly coaching is a problem.
I disagree. This was their best defensive effort this year by far. If they can do it consistently they can't be beat.
JBO needs to start but JT needs to play a lot. JBO needs to look to Garza and JW for the assist and then spot up and try to get to the line, he should be there 5-10 times per game.
The effort on defense was good but defensive rebounding was much better. Purdue still had too many open looks that didn't go in. I am not sure the defense overall was that much better.
