Okie St Match Thread

Thoughts from a PSU fan. First, thanks to both teams for actually wrestling their starting lineups. Tom Ryan can go suck an egg for what he & Cornell did yesterday. Impressive win overall against a tough team.

Great win for Brands. Great to see Assad back. I want to see every team at full strength. Nice win for him, too. Spencer Lee, LOL, there will never be another. That was the best move I can remember since Bo pinned MyMar in the finals. Woods should be considered the favorite at 141 at this point. He’s been great all year and only getting better. Siebrecht isn’t in the elite class, but he is a great scrambler. I have no idea how Gfeller didn’t get the takedown with 30 seconds left in SV.

Great day for the good guys. Can always nit-pick, but I like how we're looking right now and it was a solid showing across the whole lineup. Hopefully Assad's elbow and Cobe's shoulder can heal up some over the next 2 weeks. Dare I say we might be heading into tourney time *relatively* healthy and maybe 'peaking' for once? Ok, now I'll await my lashings from somebody.

Sounds good to me.

Hopefully our team uses this 2 weeks to recover for big tens. Iowa is always banged up

On the contrary, today was the best we have looked health wise all year.

He's going to have to wrestle way tougher in BIG and Nationals. Really good wrestler just doesn't seem to be a tough wrestler.

Good Lord, another turd from you? It’s like your goal is to have the worst takes possible. And if that’s true, you’re definitely winning.

Why is he ranked behind Alirez? Both undefeated. Woods has wrestled a tougher schedule. Woods has been on the podium twice. Alirez has never placed.

If they are both undefeated going into NCAAs, there’s no way Real doesn’t get #1, right?
Kinda seems like ranking services punished him for not wrestling a few times earlier when he was injured. It was Matthews 1, Woods 2, and Alirez 3 to start the year. Then when Matthews lost, Alirez jumped Woods to #1.

I am sure that is it, but that is ridiculous. Real has wins over (Intermat) 4, 5, and 10. Alirez’s best win is over 11.

Agreed. Not to mention that Real Woods is an actual returning AA. I think he'll get the 1.

Can Spencer Lee come back and wrestle one more year because of Covid like some other student athletes are doing in other sports.

This is the one more year that he came back to wrestle already. He is completely out of eligibility after this season

If they both go undefeated then 55% of the seeding criteria is a push. Woods should get at least 30% of the remaining 45% because of quality of schedule.

i was thinking the same thing. i think the answer is his win over matthews at the all star put him there and he hasn't lost since. but that match doesn't count for seeding.
