*** Omnibus NCAA Tournament games thread ***

One-quarter of the sweet 16 will be made up by double-digit seeds.

Remains to be seen what happens with Texas and TCU, but shaping up to be rather equal between conferences, and the smaller conferences will have their share.

beat Purdue (sweet sixteen team)

get beat by shitty Richmond

makes sense

Getting to the BTT final and losing like Purdue did is okay because they got an extra day--didn't play until Friday Getting to BTT final and winning is Bad when you have a Thursday game like Iowa.. However if your opponent also played 4 games in 4 days, that normally would even things out, unless you are a team like Iowa that relies on 3pt shooting and tired legs are more of an issue.

I think to the casual basketball observer if they saw the final score, they probably assumed Richmond shot lights out, but sadly that was not the case...far too many easy backdoors/in bounds buckets to count. Seeing this second round tells me a program like Iowa REALLY needs to focus on in-your-face defense if they want to get anywhere...

Was TCU fouled there at midcourt on the turnover?
Sure looked like he got bodied up pretty good, or maybe a little acting but either way a Ref isn't going to put himself in a situation to call it unless he's 100% certain, IMO.

Wow. Dude tried to dunk it instead of shooting it and time expired. What a crazy end to regulation. Overtime incoming. Wow!
Well, he was less than a second away from winning it and when all hell is breaking loose you just go. Don't fault the kid at all.

Arizona, the program that lute built from a nobody to powerhouse. Iowa the program he left.

Lute was in on Cummings and Isaiah Thomas out of Chicago lost both...both All americans and big time NBA players Then Lute left. Ravelling recruited a masterpiece and left. Davis never able to recruit to that level.

Gonzaga another program built from scratch.

Great coaches can build a program...hard to find, but I don't think the one we got now is a Lute or a Mark Few or a Bo Ryan or Ralph MIller...
