OT - How many of you guys (gals) have real jobs?

Real Estate for the past 20 years after working some crap jobs after college. Managed Shopping Centers for the largest Mall owners on the planet for 14 years and was Director for Leasing for a medium sized R/E company for 6 years. Now, I help a buddy get construction buildout jobs for retail and office locations. Work from home 90% of the time. Basically line up times with R/E brokers and they lead me to new deals they are doing that need the buildouts. I really enjoy it. My wife and I started retirement saving aggressively from when we got married 20 years ago this past October (no pics) which has given us some flexibility in our work choices now. Very happily married (still no pics).

My wife has moved up in her profession and makes a great living (she loves her job). I'm 50 so I really need to keep busy and don't want to completely quit working. Don't ever want the office life again, but may try and find something that challenges me a little more in the next few years.

Insurance, specifically mental health and substance abuse.

I sit at a desk all day, with 2 monitors, so it's pretty easy to check this board all day long.
There’s a lot of us that need a mental health specialist I know Im one of them.
Im a civil servant and own a small construction CO. Also a Struggling Inventor and as soon as I come up with one of these silly infomercial things that people spend tons of money on, or something you defense contractors can buy lots of for the government. I will then take my private jet to every home match and hope to have enough left over to make a large enough donation to the HWC to have my name on something semi important.

Damn dude. You are an inspiration. Thanks for your service and thanks for everything you have done after your service. I'd say sorry for your earlier years, but my guess is you are a guy who would say it is what shaped you and you don't play the victim role. Very cool story. Seems like there should be a movie made about it you. Any producers on here?
Never spoke of it until my late 30's.....I had two ask about book after speaking at NAMI and Vet Centers... but no movie.... but spoke to large crowds... lost 3 closest relatives at 7,8, and 9... violent foster home, with a psychopath... so knocked unconscious a few times, punched through a storm door at 10... thrown off a fire escape into a snow bank, trapped under a bldg insulating his back four apts, electrocuted... etc..... my dean in second grad program made us do a childhood summary to graduate... is how I ever spoke of it.... she asked me after class if i was sure being homeless at 11 , in winter , was a 'false memory'... which is a horrible thing to say to you when you are the first person ever told... said quite sure... I lived on Rock Bowl snack bar closet , college kids kitchnettes pop tarts and raw hot dogs and doughnuts from mass at Rohlman Hall.. etc... went back when couldnt live on my own and driven out for good at 15 ... and he started molesting my 8 yr old sister that week , etc.... .. anyway...... thanks for the feedback, appreciated.....

Screw that bastard...he's burning in hell now. You won by surviving, you won by thriving. Much respect for your perseverance and resilience.

Grew up in the mountains of TN. Family is in the oil & gas business. Left school after 6th grade when my family moved to southern California. Worked a lot of different jobs. Outside the family business, I have spent time working as a millwright, brain surgeon, streetcar conductor, double-naught spy and short order cook.

Lots of free time on my hands for watching wrestling. Feel pretty fortunate as the secretary for my uncle's banker helps me with any streaming issues.

I would have sworn you were a Hollywood director for awhile too, weren't you?

Well maybe you have a point. With all the recent news out of Hollywood, I don't like to talk about my time behind the camera. Thought that time of my life was better left out.

I won't reply to all of them but thank you to all of you that have served to protect our great Country, either in the military, as a civilian, or otherwise. You are better men than I.
Not better, just different. Everyone plays their part. Some people are born for certain things. Be productive, give back, be ethical and cheer for the Hawks!!

Yeah, but in the back of your head, you're probably giggling at the Air Force guys.
