Things never change8 stall calls on Iowa, 0 on penn state lol
Good ol fashioned home cooking. I was shocked when Warner got stall called for dean lounging on him for two minutes pretending to turn him… college wrestling is officially dead and boring when you allow this.8 stall calls on Iowa, 0 on penn state lol
He's clearly behind Parris and Kerk now. Maybe even SchultzThese guys? Who are these guys?
Kerk was always a better prospect than Tony.
I’m 39 now and been around wrestling as a wrestler, coach, and ref for 34 years. Pretty lackluster wrestler, but rather successful as coach and highly rated as ref. I’m confident I know enough about the sport to say, quit fn whining about a call that doesn’t go your way. 🤷♂️🤷♂️You not knowing wrestling isn't an insult, it's a fact. There's nothing wrong with not knowing wrestling. There's something wrong with not knowing wrestling, but arrogantly spouting off dumbass comments on a rival fanbases wrestling board.
No way. Cass is the clear #3. Northwestern is better than SchultzHe's clearly behind Parris and Kerk now. Maybe even Schultz
Cass got him early on just like ADS against RBY. But Kerk and RBY improved greatly after their freshman seasons. Both were higher ranked prospects though.Cass beat him repeatedly and now 0-2.
Show proof dudeDon't be salty that your favorite team cheats. Be like Alabama football fans and embrace it with open arms.
Is that right?!? Real, Max, and Spencer. I guess we didn’t have a single take down in the last five matches right?2 take down for Iowa, ouch!
For tonight, I agree. But we need to do a better job. That said, I'm impressed with what I saw tonight. I didn't have a warm fuzzy about Cass or Warner, but loved that Murin and Kennedy got the Ws. That was huge. PSU is not unbeatable. We didn't do enough to win but they have the stall ride down to a science...and then NEVER get called for it. Exactly where were the efforts to turn from Star, Dean or Kerk. They just laid on top and collected RT
He's always been behind Parris, he's been crushed by him every time. WTF are you talking about? He's clearly behind Parris and Kerk now. Maybe even Schultz
He won't. Kerk can win that type of match over and over.Good first half. Very disappointed in the back half. Really though Cass would figure out that ride. Same one that swamped him during the all star match. I’m not sure he can beat Kirk now without creating a little chaos.
Superior at the most boring wins ever? I guess I’ll give them that. They’ve made wrestling a joke. Get a takedown and run for five minutes.Penn State is just superior. It won’t change as long as Cael is highly engaged with coaching.

Cass has won the throw situations every time. Unless you mean Kirk can control him enough that Cass won’t be able to get on deep and attempt a throw? He won't. Kerk can with that type of match over and over.
My fear is that PSU will turn the tables on some of those close losses, and Haines will continue to trend up, in March. I have Jaydin and Kem PTSDFor tonight, I agree. But we need to do a better job. Spencer reversel and tiltsIs that right?!? Real, Max, and Spencer. I guess we didn’t have a single take down in the last five matches right?
Warner yea. Kerk might just be too much at this point. That was a winnable match boys. Full strength I’d take the wins in March from cass and Warner instead of tonight. Late March
Well maybe Penn State's wrestlers should do a better job of letting us take them down instead of playing keep away and counter/play for the stall ride wrestling.......2 take down for Iowa, ouch!
I mean he won't beat him in the type of match the last two have been. He needs to find some way to create chaos.Cass has won the throw situations every time. Unless you mean Kirk can control him enough that Cass won’t be able to get on deep and attempt a throw?
If it had been Facunado with the cradle locked off to the side, this ref would have screamed TWO to get that crowd approval.Did anybody else think Kennedy had a TD with the cradle?
It really sucks that the rest of American collegiate wrestling can't do more to keep from giving up bonus points to those pieces of dog sh**, but will gladly stall their asses off to avoid getting bonuses by Iowa in the tournament.Penn state will blow people away in a tournament setting
The first half of their lineup can’t score other than rby. That’s a lot of close matches to win to place high for those guys. Their back half makes them definite favorites. Unless one of the 74 84 or heavies get hurt they will win.Penn state will blow people away in a tournament setting
That was probably the one loss I hated the most. Love Kem and hate that he was riddled by injuries most of his college time. He's the kind of wrestler, along with Lee, that we need to keep on our team to improve our offense in the room and on the mat under the big lights. I hate this handfighting and do nothing style, unless it serves a purpose (such as the case with Brands tonight). I don't think Nelson could have won, but like Teske he could have got caught trying more than he's capable of in a big time dual. That said, the rest of the time (when not completely outclassed by your opponent when we're going against Penn State), I want to see these guys open up like Lee does now and like Kem always did. I would love to see PK get there, and of course Woods is already there. Love our guys, but I want some freaking action!!Maybe I’m too invested but Kemerer losing to that douche in the finals still emotional scars me
Okay gotcha. So you were agreeing with me.I mean he won't beat him in the type of match the last two have been. He needs to find some way to create chaos.
True. Kerk was the superior talent and recruit coming out. He just underperformed previously. You said these guys! Who are these guys who have passed up Tony? Kerk has but he had a much higher ceiling.
Is he the one that called Stoll for stalling when he had double unders and the guy backed off the mat?J.R. never calls Iowa opponents for stalling. Doesn't matter if on the road, at Carver, or in tourney. Hawk could run opponent off the mat and out of the arena, and J.R. would call "action." Or hit the Hawk for stalling for "pushing" opponent off mat. Has ALWAYS been this way. Tonight was typical J.R. Whenever I see J.R. or Angel, I know we'll have to beat two opponents.
I'm with you my friend! We need our guys to keep improving, which is why I want to see more senior level 157 and heavier talent in our room. I feel like we keep bringing back Iowa guys who were themselves boring wrestlers instead of spending a few dollars to bring in some of those guys who kicked our asses. I don't want inbreeding; I want us to keep moving forward, changing and adapting as we go...and I think that takes some fresh personalities, perspectives and techniques. My fear is that PSU will turn the tables on some of those close losses, and Haines will continue to trend up, in March. I have Jaydin and Kem PTSD
Cass looks small compared to Kerk now.
I’m not sure what the above poster was getting at. I know Max, Real, and Spencer all had takedowns, so that can’t be right?Did Iowa have only 2 takedowns?
Cool. With your inability to have a conversation without resorting to name calling, gaslighting, or degrading comments in general, I hope you don’t leave your mom’s basement much. 🤣🤣🤣I hope you didn't ref anything beyond middle school or high school JV.
