Can't argue with any of that.I think some want to at least give Parco, Caliendo and Kueter a chance, simply due to pedigree. Since there is no such thing as "absolute" zero, here is a percentage based(solely my opinion) look at each weight:
125: Cruz <1%
133: Ayala 75%
141: Block 1% I think a fully healthy Block could confound Bartlett with his length and maybe keep it close enough to steal it late, but I still say 1/100 for now.
149: Parco 10% Parco looks great, but his history against Van Ness sucks and Van Ness has looked like a monster all season....
157: Teemer 50/50 If 100% healthy I would put his odds closer to Ayala, but I have no idea how he looks IF he wrestles this match.
165: Caliendo 5% He is too good not to give him a 1/20 chance. However, Mess has dominated him so far and I doubt that changes.
174: Kennedy/Brands 5% Haines is another monster where I could only maybe see size play a factor against more Brands than Kennedy, where Brands could do something similar to Block keeping it close and stealing it late. Still, I would pick Haines every time...
184: Arnold 1% I love this kid. He is absolutely my favorite wrestler on the team. But, no matter how much you hate Starocci, a freshman 174 wrestling up is in for a world of hurt. I would cheer harder for him than anyone else. But, giving him even a 1/100 chance is probably a bit biased....
197: Buchanan 75% Barr is a stud, but Buchanan has arguably looked like the best guy in the weight class. For now, I would pick him 3 out of 4. But, that 1 could very well be at NCAA's where you just can't ignore their track record.
285: Kueter 2% This one hurts me, because I just don't want to give a World Champ such terrible odds. However, Kerkvliet is a TERRRRRIBLE matchup and has already proven it when they wrestled last season. I am sure Ben has improved since then, but enough to overcome a 9-1 beating? I don't think so...
So, I could see how true hardcore Iowa fans could get to 5 wins, with the foundation being Ayala, Teemer and Buchanan and then some kind of combo between Parco, Caliendo, Kennedy Brands and Kueter. With that said, I would probably put the over under at 2. We don't even know if Teemer will wrestle or what shape he will be in. I could see them getting lucky and maybe catching 4 wins, but I sure as hell wouldn't personally say 5, and forced to pick, I would go with 2...

Which 3 do you feel pretty good about? You don’t see a Taylor, Nolf, Nickel level kid on this team? Have you ever heard of Starocci.….has already won more titles than any of the 3 you listed, Haines is a 2 time finalist with a title, could potentially get 2 more, Mesenbrink is the most dominate wrestle in college besides Gable perhaps….you guys take 133 for sure, probably 197…..will teemer be back? Even if he is I’m not so sure he beats Kasak not being 100%.

Mess is my favorite PSU wrestler and my prediction for the Hodge unless Caliendo can figure him out. Caliendo has to go on the offense; he can’t try to counter Mess’ attacks. Kasak looked great against Taylor but I don’t see the same outcome against a healthy Teemer. As for Star, I think it will be a Dec match. Star’s great and he’s also smart. I think he’ll try to get a lead and hold a lead. Gabe has quickness and some funk; I don’t think Star will go into high risk mode unless necessary. Like you I’m really excited for the show; let’s us all know where we stand 7 weeks out from NCAAs.
i would be very, very surprised if lilledahl, bartlett, starocci, and kerkvliet all scored bonus points. i don’t think any of them will let alone all of them.
bartlett and lilledahl especially haven’t shown themselves to be prolific scorers. gabe/angelo and kueter are tough to score on
So, after seeing this weekend’s results, including Teemer looking very solid, Keuter getting a good win and Lilledahl taking his first loss, what weight would you like to see lead off the meet next Friday, and why?
I wouldn’t mind seeing it start at 197, Buchanan-Barr to start things off with Starocci-Arnold to close it out

Hey Mike, I'd like to see the finale at 97. Frankly I think that's the match that's most intriguing to most viewers.
I’d kind of like that to be the last match of the night. Think that match is going to be a fireworks show and would be a fun match to close out the dual.

Not likely, but you could be right on the no bonus. I hope Drake is back, if not that will definitely be bonus for PSU.
Most matches we are dogs but might not end up in bonus. Don't see any bonus opportunities for us.
I'm a huge Caliendo fan and I like him against anybody not named Mesenbrink. He's a completely different animal who is 3-0 with a Dec, TF and then a MD against Mikey. I will be very surprised if Caliendo holds this to a decision. Also, I think Haines could get into MD decision territory against Kennedy. Not trying to be totally negative but their guys are very good and it's in State College. Hoping I'm wrong on these two but seems probable.
I guess it’s possible for Haines, but I think pretty unlikely. He just had a 5-2 against Jackson turley
If Carson Kharchla can take PK down twice then Haines only needs 1 more than that plus he's really good on top so a turn is possible. Probably basing this on Kennedy's performance today so could just be from that disappointment.

I noticed this too. I commented during the match that PK took a very lazy shot when he was only down 3 and Kharchla was able to get an easy counter TD. This put him in desperation mode, and he seemed out of his element.
Just a hunch but I think we see Ferrari get his crack at Starocci on Friday and Gabe will get his potentially at BIG 10s.
I agree and think it is a great way to approach the match. Will show Angelo exactly where he is at and still get Gabe a shot at him more than likely.
I don't know why but think Ferrari gets a shot at Star too. But then got to thinking what if he beats him, then what? Would that lock Ferrari in and push Gabe to 74?
As crazy as that sounds, I actually think Ferrari might have a better shot at beating him than Gabe.
That said, this a four time NCAA champ we are talking about. I think our chances are slim to none whoever we send out against him.

If anyone understands hallow callouts, it's Starocci. He's had his fair share of them. A few off the top of my head:
1. Saying he was going to cut through the Sr level field like a chainsaw through butter. Proceeds to lose 1st round
2. Saying he would have his "get back" against Griffith in the dual in Ann Arbor. Proceeds to not wrestle the dual.
3. Challenging AJ(sex toys included) to a catchweight that Starocci knew AJ couldn't make.
4. Saying he's going to end Burroughs career. Proceeds to not compete at the same weight.
Pretends to quit at b10 last year to come back at ncaa plus a bonus year.
He was gonna piss on a grave and spit in Burroughs face if he did to him what his did to Mesenbrink 🤷
