Per CNN Regional Jet crashes in Potomac River

Doesn't need proof. Just say what you want to get ahead of the narrative. Now the burden is on everyone else to prove him wrong while he moves on to the next lie.
Or with this administration work hard to prove him right despite the truth.

I stayed out of this thread until the press conference, interesting how silent the resident republicans went. Trump now has the deadliest plane crash in the last 24 years on his record.

The group who screams ‘“Let’s not get political” after a mass shooting always go radio silent when the president makes the deaths of 67 political within 14 hours

You got some serious issues clown. To bring politics into this incident you’re one coldhearted mother****er. You got hundreds hundreds family members crying their eyes out looking for answers and people like you spread this bullshit is quite sickening. I feel sorry for you in a way. You’re pathetic.
Same feelings for our President who just blamed it on DEI with no proof?

If the aircraft was turning for final approach with the belly pointed towards the helo it could’ve created the blind spot. This also could’ve prevented the light up on the NVGs. (Just a guess)

Another thing is the helo might’ve been at the wrong altitude due to a rapidly changing barometer. Just 00.10 of mercury could cause a difference of 100 feet. If they didn’t adjust to the latest altimeter..that right there is an issue.
As to the first paragraph, certainly understand what you're saying, but the helo had plenty of time beyond any blind spot moment to sight the aircraft. And if they somehow attribute a blind spot as a cause, given the orientation of these aircraft to each other (about 12 o'clock at similar altitude), then we simply can't have aircraft in this proximity near a congested airfield at night any longer.

As to the second paragraph, I think you're spot on as to a possible cause.
In any case, this sucks.

Ya it’s odd. The broad picture I think we all get now. It’s the details that will be interesting to learn.

Watching that, how does air traffic control not instruct the helo to make a significant adjustment at first sign of a collision warning? It seems like too much trust was put on the helo pilot to adjust on their own?
Yeah, I think that will be a proximate cause as well. Factoring in there, you have ATC who sees these aircraft in close proximity every day. You have highly skilled military pilots. And you have an apparent confirmation of visual sighting/separation. All of that together means ATC has its "guard" down a little (maybe even a lot if they believe helo is now in charge of separation), until the last moment when ATC tries to jump back in and send the helo behind. In hindsight, helo heading or altitude should have been adjusted.

Btw there’s no chance they’re letting “dumb dei hires” work inside the DCA airspace. This has zero to do with ****ing atc hiring. God he needs to go.
You have no idea at all if this is true. Your jumping to conclusions as well.

I would be shocked if they lowered standards for controllers.

Shut up until you have the proof in hand.
They didn’t. They allowed applicants/hiring into training from off the street. They all still go to okc for the same training program. Going to certified program gets you 5 week basic credit. I minored in air traffic control from one of those programs.

Btw they’ve always had windows for off the street hiring. They fully opened it up because retirements and covid killed staffing.

For their sake, I hope both the pilots and ATC are white athletic males with high IQs so the DEI narrative goes away quickly.
What if it isn't? What if we have a non white non male ATC that didnt pass the standards prior and they were lowered so as to diversify the force?

ATC standards historically have been crazy high. A friend of mine years ago couldn't pass the standard and didn't get in to training and moved on. This was back in the 90s though.

If the ATC had high scores, high qualifications and happened to be black and Trump is making assumptions then that is abhorrent with a capital A.

Lets try to not assume the worst. I always suspect the best and hate assuming the worst. Many on here that hate Trump are quite the opposite.

No I’m really not. There are certain places they aren’t letting non experienced controllers work. That being one of them. Hold on to DEI hope though.
Read my other posts before making a jackass of yourself.

I am not hoping for a DEI issue. Quite clearly. I am hoping Trump has evidence for his implication. If he doesnt I am ashamed of him on this.
