Predictions for MSU (Thur)

Sparty is playing like a wounded animal right now,.. I predict a very physical game with the Hawks pulling out a hard fought single digit win...

Iowa - 84
Michigan State - 78

We have to outrebound them and stay out of foul trouble. Do those 2 things and we should win by 10. They will probably take away JBO so CJ and Weezy need to step up.

They don't have anyone who can guard Garza 1 on 1. So if we are disciplined on offense, we should be able to get the shots we want just about every time.

But will we also be patient enough to wait for those shots................or make one pass, take three dribbles and shoot because it just felt like the right time for a contested pull-up jumper?

This. MSU will double and triple team Luka every time he gets the ball. When he passes out of it they will dive at whoever gets the pass. One dribble, then shoot or pass it back in to Garza will be the formula for that. If the game does go this way, it will be tailor-made for CJ and JoBo.

MSU and Wisconsin are the 2 teams we've struggled against mightily. We haven't beat MSU since the 15/16 season where we swept the series. With that being said, this roster doesn't have the likes of Goins, Winston, Ward and McQuaid on it. It'll most likely be hard fought and a close Iowa win.

Izzo Poops his pants after Garza and Bohanan drop 50 points between the 2 in the FIRST HALF..

But seriously MSU is never a easy game and Iowa has lost to them wayyyy too many times I think the Hawks start the 550 HP Engine up and mow them down ..

Hawks by 22 points
Didn't a Linklighter-coached Iowa beat MSU by around 20 pts?

MSU is no where near the team they have been in the past, and this Iowa team is one of the best Iowa teams in history. This will be a blowout unless Iowa lays a total egg. Ain't gonna happen.

I think Iowa will be highly motivated for this game for that very reason.

I think they will concentrate on holding down Luka and shutting down JBo, so Joe W and, especially CJ will step up.

Not a bold prediction, but MSU's strategy will be to be physical beyond what the rules allow and bet that the officials won't be willing to call it consistently. Basically MSU's strategy in hoops and football for the past 20+ years.

Iowa by 12-15.

Henry is a stud but the rest of this msu team is below their normal standard.

They'll have to commit 2 and 3 players to the paint to stop Garza and JBO and CJ should get plenty of shots off.

Predicting a big bounce back game for Murray too.

Don't forget Jerel Worthy flailing & flopping on the ground in order to stop the clock.

If it said anything other than MSU on their shirts and they had anyone but the bratty leprechaun on the bench, nobody would be talking about that team. They're terrible. Iowa will join the list of those showing just how terrible that team is on Thursday night: Iowa -- 99, MSU -- 61. And it won't be as close as the score indicates.
