As to the OP, as long as she didn't know in advance, I'd say it was a real reaction. I nearly gagged and I knew what it was.

Huh? They all use them normally… I don’t understand what you’re saying.

Unless you’re somehow implying that there are a bunch of people I don’t know how to use a Q-tip. Which will boggle my mind… I thought 99% of the population use them daily.
