Honestly have no idea. But when you live in Eastern Iowa, you have to prep yourself for the harsh realities of regularly missing most blue chip recruits out of high school.

I may have missed it, but do the Raneys have a connection that puts Iowa in the top 2? I understand the thought behind Illinois.
ferrari, arnold, kennedy, deluca, ludington and jesuroga all blue chip and all committed to iowa but you keep your glass half empty

I live in Iowa, close to Iowa city. Usually home state/town people are fans of their university. I’ve followed Iowa wrestling and recruiting for quite some time. Man, you guys are REALLY reaching. Let me guess, your dad can beat up mine? You’ve been to more Iowa duals than me so you’re a bigger fan?

Is an Iowa fan who lives in say California somehow not capable of understanding the concept that Iowa has been struggling to sign blue chip recruits the past few years? Maybe the internet doesn’t reach them as well or something.

Not a clue the connection with Iowa, everyone knows the connection with Illinois. Speaking of Illinois, Union County hosted their dual tournament this past weekend and wrestled against St. Paris Graham in the finals while the Illinois coach was there in attendance all day.
It has to do with national championships. University of Iowa has always been in eastern Iowa and had no problem landing Zadick, Williams, Lincoln, Sharrat, Dwieza, Spencer, McGinness, Ironside, Mocco, etc
With the exception to Spencer and Dziewa, most of the rest of the list is about to start getting mail from AARP.
Right, and the location of the school hasn't changed, but what has? My point is that the school used to get Blue Chips DESPITE the location.

What is strange is Iowa fans plugging Rainey, Rainey, Bo and Jax into a line up that doesn’t exist and compare it to a PSU’s already NON FICTIONAL line up.

Sure. Here’s the thing; you’re quoting names from as far back as mid 90’s till now. Like that’s something current to hang our hats on? It was great in the 90’s. It’s damn near 2025 my guy, that was 30 years ago.
AGAIN, this is not my argument. Comparing to PSU or even the likes of Cornell, they’re signing far more blue chips in each class than we are. Or so it would seem.

Of all the times to bitch about recruiting blue chips, some are choosing to do it 2 days after landing one. At least wait until we miss on a top 2026 recruit, or a week ago would’ve sufficed.
No kidding. This horse has been beaten to death over and over. Last 2 years they’ve hammered the portal and made 3 high level high school signings in Ferrari, DeLuca and now Ludington. Time to give it a rest.
