You think beating out Ryder at his more ideal weight will be harder than beating Marisola in another year at 197?? Thought one of your fans said Ryder will end up 174, but I guess with Haines there that’s a problem also. Some good upper weight will be leaving PSU next year.
Anyone hear that Brands and M* are in Pennsylvania visiting Bassett and Forrest? My buddy text me and said he seen a picture on social media of Brands at Bassetts place? Waiting for him to get me more details.
I don’t know how it will shake out. I would have told you I expected Barr to be the one to get the squeeze, but he’s been terrific this year, including the shellacking of Mirasola at Black Knight (and a major of Cochran in a de facto wrestle off in the finals). Now I have no idea, except that Barr is significantly better than Mirasola at 197 right now and is 19-0 so far in his college career.
The problem with Ryder at 174 is that it means that Sealey has to wait three more years for Mesenbrink to finish and hold 165 until then (and Duke to hold 157). I think it’s more likely that you’ll see Duke at 165 and Sealey at 174 when they get in the lineup. Henkel will probably be 174 as well.

if Angelo were to build into a 97, there's no one - after graduations this year - that he's not in the conversation with, including Barr.
If his live scraps with SB are even a slight indication, he’d be firmly in the conversation this year as well.
I don't know if 184 is his more ideal weight. He said he doesn't like cutting and that 184 would be a tough pull. He looks like a title contender as a smaller-mid sized 197 which has been the prototype for PSU at that weight recently

My buddy has a 11 year old son who goes to Young Guns practice at the compound in Johnstown. He said Tom and M* were there last night. Obviously watching Bo and Jax but he said Melvin Miller and Mario Hutcherson were also in the group with Bo. This makes me happy!
Heard Brands was at Union County yesterday checking in on the Raney's. Their dual (I guess just Jayden is wrestling) is going to be live on Flowrestling Night in America tonight at 5:30 central time.
Believe he planned on staying for the dual tonight as well.

Seems like they are really working hard on recruiting the 2026 class I think if they bring a few big names into the HWC it would help a lot with that.

Man the Raney brother looked great against Jax Forrest at Ironman. I hope we land them!
Is it just me or does it feel like the Raneys may be more important than Bassett and Jax Forrest? I don't know the likelihood of getting both Bassett and Forestt, but with the Raneys you are getting both for sure, and it feels like they may have more room to grow. Already taking Forrest to overtime, and not having the same elite training partners/club, may be more room to grow. I may be way off.
I'm sure our competition would love to take Bo and Jax and leave the Raneys to us if they could choose.

I think as far as Bassett is concerned, you are not only bringing in a FREAK STUD!!! You are also bringing in the recognition/hype that comes with him as well as ALL who might follow!!! That factor has to be added in in my opinion which by the way has proven to be correct 99% of the time!!!
Question that we all do not know the answer to is, what will it take? What does the kid really want to do? AGAIN IF it is totally 100% about becoming a legend in the sport and getting the most fans, recognition etc..... IOWA is the place!!!

Accord some on here, we should not be losing recruits because of money. Bo is important because he probably brings a few more studs with him over the next few years. I think Brands are finally having the attitude of PSU and now Taylor , which is expect to land all the top guys in a class and let it shake out over a few years. They don’t give a crap about what blue chip may leave if they can’t break their line up. The trick is convincing all of them they will be the one to win the spot. All these guys have high levels of confidence, that’s how PSU puts together classes that make us scratch our heads. If we lose home state stud Ross to Taylor or PSU, it will be a tragedy.

Did Jax have a torn ACL and mono because I remember Lee having that and knowing that he was the better wrestler between the two. . With The Raneys you get two and with Bo and Jax you may only get one at best. I would love for Iowa to get all of them, or if i had to choose I would take Bo and Jax over the Raneys, but looking long term.
