Recruiting

Right on…. But remember that you have been wrong the 100% of that 1% you mentioned above…
Well, that is pretty darn good no????
Could you imagine the 2026/2027 team being this?
125 DeLuca
133 Raney
141 Raney
149 Bo
157 Estrada
165 Voinovich
174 Arnold
184 Ferrari
197 Ludington
285 Kueter
Something along these lines is what it is going to take!!! HAMMERS at every weight and nothing less to knock F*** st off!

Did Jax have a torn ACL and mono because I remember Lee having that and knowing that he was the better wrestler between the two. . With The Raneys you get two and with Bo and Jax you may only get one at best. I would love for Iowa to get all of them, or if i had to choose I would take Bo and Jax over the Raneys, but looking long term.

And now you're trying even harder.

With Bo you likely get Melvin Miller and Keegan Basset as well
It has very good potential to be even better.
Dreshaun, Aaron stewart, Jax

Could you imagine the 2026/2027 team being this?
125 Desmond (PSU) d DeLuca
133 Lilledahl (PSU) d Raney
141 Blaze (PSU) d Raney
149 SVN (PSU) d Bo
157 Duke (PSU) d Estrada
165 Mesenbrink (PSU) d Voinovich
174 Sealey (PSU) d Arnold
184 Ferrari (Iowa) d Ryder
197 Barr (PSU) d Ludington
285 Kueter (Iowa) d Mirasola

You're getting closer and many of these matches could go either way. Desmond beat DeLuca last year in the prep national finals, although I think DeLuca is a higher ranked recruit, so that's really a toss-up. Jordyn Raney vs Lilledahl in the 22 S32 final was an all-time classic, but I think the Raneys are going to have a tough time with Lilledahl and Blaze. Senior SVN vs Frosh Bo is an all time great matchup. I give SVN a slight edge, but that could be Bo's "Zain vs Stieber" moment, too. Duke vs Estrada is another tough one, although I think Duke has a small advantage. Senior Mesenbrink will be a Hodge favorite, and this is probably bonus points. Sealey vs Arnold is another instant classic. Have they ever wrestled against each other in competition? I know they spent plenty of time together in the room at Sem, but Sealey was significantly lighter than Arnold at the time. Ferrari vs Ryder is the first where Iowa has an advantage going in, although that's not a slam dunk. Barr is laying waste to college wrestling at the current moment. We'll see how far it goes. If not Barr, then Connor Mirasola probably has a small advantage here anyway. If Kueter sticks with wrestling only, he will be a clear favorite here. If he's back to football as well to try to make a run at playing in the NFL, then wrestling will be a second priority and its closer.

One thing is for certain, if these are the lineups for a dual match, I'll be in the front row with popcorn in hand. This could easily be the best dual match of this generation.

The problem is that we’re looking at an established line up for PSU and Iowa’s projected line up is still half pie in the sky.

Give me DeLuca and Arnold

In that interview Brands (Terry) specifically mentions some top level light weights who are Juniors and competing in the Ironman that are looking at Iowa. Who knows where these dudes shake out weight wise. I’d guess the smaller Raney and Jax both outgrow 133 and end up 141, and Bo and the bigger Raney end up 149/157, but who really knows. Get em all in the room and let them figure it out.

Is it just me or does it feel like the Raneys may be more important than Bassett and Jax Forrest? I don't know the likelihood of getting both Bassett and Forestt, but with the Raneys you are getting both for sure, and it feels like they may have more room to grow. Already taking Forrest to overtime, and not having the same elite training partners/club, may be more room to grow. I may be way off.
This has been my thought for awhile. Even think I posted it somewhere.

2 is better than one. Now if we could land both the Raneys and Bo. I’d be very happy. But, I’m with you, I think the Raneys have a very high upside.

Speak for yourself that transfer is worth the pound of pickles

Just went over to the Rutgers board to cheer myself up (I was having a bad day) - RUCrackers is doubling down.

3 PSU transfers
2 Iowa transfers

Will happen after the season, and at least one is Suriano level. All of these kids have just completely "had it" with the PSU/Iowa.

Curious, but what are the tea leaves that tells you that Iowa may be #1 on Bo's list?
I’m betting Bo and Jax go to Okie St. we’re missing on the Rainey’s too and that’s why the portal is being hunted so hard. Sorry about everyone make believe line ups.
