Resar to the Portal

He was a victim of being recruited to play in a system that was tossed out before he got to campus. I doubt he would have even been recruited if Lester was the OC at that time. He was caught in the transition. Wise of him to enter the portal now if he wants to be a QB, no sense in waiting another year learning how to run routes and catch passes.

If people are still telling him he has a shot at the NFL, he needs to listen to new people.
I'd say he is telling himself that. I'm actually tentatively surprised he isn't sticking around with Kirk telling him he can be the starter.

He can't play at any Power 4-5 school and I'm also including the Mountain West at this point. Now, if he were to somehow get magically healthy ( 2 % chance from what I've seen) he could maybe go play at a lower level. Petras put up pretty big numbers this year but he was healthy and always had a much better arm than Cade.
Petras was superior to Cade in pretty much every way.

My only disagreement would be that I believe he still thinks he can make the league. He isn't getting there at an FCS program. Maybe a mountain west school?
Makes sense for him to move closer to home out West, but I actually think the Mountain West is too good of a league for him (as well as the AAC). I don't know what Nevada's situation is, but they're obviously in rebuild mode, so if their QB of the future is still a year away from being a impact and they need a 1-year guy to fill the gap, then maybe that would be a possibility. Otherwise I'm thinking MAC or CUSA if he really wants to stay in FBS.

Since when is 2315 yards passing big numbers?

Zero surprise.

Notice how he didn't thank any of the coaches or described about his great time here.

Pretty clear he is NOT happy.
So the guy who was recruited to play QB was told that's not an option anymore and he is now a wide receiver isn't happy? Go figure.

I'm not sure why he wouldn't be happy. The coaches gave him every single opportunity and even played him when they probably shouldn't have been playing him. He looked like a 50 year old man at the end.

I thought he was referring to Resar?

This happens everywhere. Kids aren't willing to sit and be backups, they want to play. No matter where. No blame on either side from me. And yes, since Stanley our QB room, coaching, etc has all been a steaming pile of shit.
Also when you come in wanting a shot at QB and end up reporting to a WR coach in his first year with questionable qualifications on a team that doesn't use the position well currently....no brainer here.

There won't be much room for "projects" outside of the freshmen class moving forward. I second year QB making the switch to WR doesn't seem to make good use out of your 105. He'll serve someone else better at QB.

So for your reference Petras did it in 9 games. 214-327 for 2315 yards, 17 TD's and 11 picks. 65% completions. In 12 total games, we threw for 1580. Look, it's different style of play, I get it but we have an archaic passing game. It's ok to admit that.
Apples to oranges and Iowa has one of the worst passing games in the country, plays in a major conference. For your reference Debby had a true freshman throw for 2600 yards in the BIG. They aren't world beaters by any means.

Stanley was comically bad?
No, Stanley was a positive but I think MitchLL means the QB situation overall - at the macro level - and I have to agree with him there - Stanley was exception to the disappointing norm - hopefully with Lester we improve

I was referring to the people you were asking to review his skills being average. I would never refer to your as average.

You are definitely way below average.
Good thing for Me just as You the only Person's opinion that truly matters is ones own I put a smiley behind My initial comment hence humor , You know a joke. dipshit

again no issues imo for iowa but from resar’s perspective poor move imo. he has zero cfb experience, so there won’t be many takers in the portal particularly willing to play him at qb. dude should’ve stayed and got some experience.

Meh. The kid wants to play QB and was told by Iowa that he would have an opportunity to do so. He probably feels like he never got a fair shot and he's basically still a high school recruit that's still looking to play the position he was being recruited at. He had a decent offer list.
