Resar to the Portal

It's cute the way you try so hard. Quarterback evaluation 'has been' abysmal. That's obvious based on recent results... 'has been' as in the QBs they (Brian F) evaluated in the past, and have played, have not worked out well. I don't know if it 'is' abysmal now because I haven't seen any of the new quarterbacks, who would be evaluated as good or abysmal, and were recruited by Lester, get an opportunity. So it 100% 'has been' abysmal (my opinion). However it may not be judged 'is' abysmal until we have a chance to judge the new quarterbacks that Lester has evaluated and brought in. Class dismissed.
Thank you for stating it the way it is, not the nonsense you originally spouted.

Being fast and hoping they can pass the ball as a QB is not what I want out of a QB.
Yeah and I don't want anymore f***ing Kirk Cousinses either................the problem is, that portion of the pie that's left doesn't want Iowa.

Great stuff, isn't it.

Worst joke ever:

Q: Why does KFz always leave his change at the check out?
A: He doesn't care if he gets a quarter back.

He led the MWC in passing yards per game:

Yards Gained Per Game Played
And I think he was injured early in two of his games.

My only disagreement would be that I believe he still thinks he can make the league. He isn't getting there at an FCS program. Maybe a mountain west school?
If He does still believe, he is probably the only one. Hope all goes well for him, though.

You know what, Mel Tucker did it too....and it worked for him for exactly one year. Mike Norvell did it and he went from 12-0 to 2-10. Let's see if these guys can sustain it or not. KF has a 26 year track record of knowing what he's doing. You may not like HOW he does it, and that's certainly your right as a fan, but you don't luck into 204 wins.
Times have changed and the Iowa program needs change to keep up. Although this program has a glaring lack of speed and athleticism issues, he has very little plan to use the portal. Those MSU and UCLA games were drastic examples. He talks about needing players that fit the culture and his system, well the system is broken. Point to eight wins all you want, but this team was coached into losses vs ISU and UCLA, and manhandled by MSU. KF’s defeatist pre game language ended any hopes of competing vs Ohio State, although Nebraska went in there and competed. A undermanned Michigan team won there. Change is needed.

Lack of speed? Those games were not lost due to lack of speed, in fact I would say Iowa has more than enough speed. The physical nature of those games is the concerning aspect. The lines getting bullied against MSU, UCLA, and Debbie is the key problem. Iowa's WRs do not get separation due to their route running, but this is far from being a lack of speed.

I'm fine with this one, but losing scholarship players is not the method I really want to see Iowa use to get down to 105. That seems to be the Debbie method.
Unless they are QBs that never should have been offered a scholarship in the first place.

again no issues imo for iowa but from resar’s perspective poor move imo. he has zero cfb experience, so there won’t be many takers in the portal particularly willing to play him at qb. dude should’ve stayed and got some experience.

If he want's to play QB, he isn't going to get any playing or practice time at Iowa being in the WR room. They moved him to WR, which is usually code for you are not good enough and maybe you should transfer if you want to play QB. That was what happened with Boyle QB out of WDM awhile back. McNutt got moved to WR, but he was recruited as athlete, not QB and had the physical tools to play WR. Resar is not McNutt.

Iowa's own Shaggy is a guy that got picked up because he had good high school tape. If somebody likes Resar's high school tape, they'll pick him up and give him a shot at QB, which is apparently what the kid wants. Just needs to go lower than P5 school.

The shocking move was McNamara going into portal and not retiring.

Mel Tucker was fired for off the field issues. He didn’t have time to deploy a strategy.

Yes, lack of speed and athleticism.

You honestly have no idea what you are talking about. Tucker was fired because they need out of the 90 million they owed him. Iowa has plenty of athleticism and speed, their faults have been at developing WRs, QBs, and lately Olines.

‘although Nebraska went in there and competed.’

Tip of the cap to them. All that competing got them a big ‘L’ just like when they competed against Iowa.

I wasn’t talking about him getting fired. I was talking about the fact he went from 11-2 to 5-7 trying to go the transfer portal route for roster building. Again, it’s not a strategy that works long term, it’s nfl free agency…it fills gaps.
