Sammy Sasso

1.) I asked you to provide ANY evidence that is "overwhelming" not use anecdotal "lawyers analysis". If you have "seen and heard so much at this point, please share just 1 clearly and damning piece of evidence, especially in regards to being the leader in sedition and/or insurrection.

2.) I appreciated the Stewart Rhodes info. The article I was reading had yet to have his sentence listed. Prior to him, the longest sentence was 14 years for a repeat offender with THIRTY EIGHT prior felonies, named Peter Schwartz. Jennifer Megg was sentenced to 12 years. The other 4 "Oath Keepers" were sentenced from 3-4.5 years.

As far as the rest goes, only 1 person has received over 8.5 years and that was Thomas Webster, a retired NYC Police Officer who was charged with assaulting a police officer and tried to fight it as self defense in open court. So, yeah, I do still stand by my stance that you are a bit off saying "many J6 jury verdicts have already been decided with long sentences for seditious conspiracy" since 6 isn't "many and only 2 of those 6 received more than 4.5 year sentences...

Now, I am not arguing the sentences weren't deserved, I am just considerably more hesitant than you appear to be to directly relate a weirdo with an eye patch to the former president of the United States. Reading his bio, I find it much more believable that he operated as a leader on his own, as evidenced by the complete lack of organization and weaponry than Trump directly leading him to sedition.

To be clear, I DO think Trump is a POS. I really do. I am just not ready to take 1 Tweet and turn it into leading a riot, sedition and insurrection...If you can show me more clear evidence linking him to these people PLEASE DO. I am 100% open to reading it...

To my knowledge, Trump hasn't been charged with sedition or insurrection. Some of his most serious charges are election interference.

It's all semantics. The point is, he tried to overturn the 2020 election through a multitude of means and we can thank the joint chiefs of staff or he very well may have succeeded.

There is overwhelming evidence that he interfered with the election and tried to overturn it. He is facing serious charges. He will be tried, convicted, and jailed.

False. Karen.

The only police officer who died was from a stroke the next day.
Don't confuse the Karens with facts. They shot an unarmed person in the capital. If they thought it was needed, fine. They should have shot about a million idiots all across our country after the George Floyd deal. They were a far greater threat than anyone in the Capital.

Sad that no real investigation was done concerning the officer shooting an unarmed woman that wasn't even attacking him. It seems to clearly be an act of murder.

No. You go away or use the ignore button. I could care less.
Why are all you guys with vile hatred of Trump being so kind to him? He’s a billionaire, and has been out of office for 3 years, and your still letting him live rent free in your head!! At least charge him crazy high rent😂

Wishful thinking on your (Anti-Trumpers) part does not equal the law. Getting creative advice from your (Trump) attorneys on how to interpret something is not against the law. Until now.

And if you seriously want to discuss so called election interference, you might want to consider the time when 51 "experts" certified the Hunter laptop as fake Russian disinformation. That was then used by Biden during the debates. Many people fell for this little charade. Seems to me that was orchestrated election interference right there. There were others.

We'll see.

Just idiot jackoffs that are narcissistic and think of themselves as the smartest people in the room keep hijacking threads that have zero to do with the wrestling topic.
May I recommend using commas? Maybe move some words around and add a period or 2 for good measure.

You guys are the funniest. This thread is obviously a pleasant diversion from the topic of Iowa wrestling. Thanks for being there! Off season just wouldn’t be the same with out your angst ridden rants and dubious replies spewing all across the political spectrum. Keep up the great work. On a more serious note: the upcoming season is going to be a supreme challenge for the Hawks. I predict that more than a few of your guys will make you proud.

Just trying to make sure what's important isn't forgotten. And maybe let people know how they can help, if able.

FYI

Saw Peyton Robb's name on the donation list and thought that was just amazing, considering what that young man has been through recently.

First off I'd like to say FU to those hijacking this thread. Second, go to Sasso's GoFundMe. Here is an update from his family. He needs our help.
GoFundMe

Dear Friends, Family, and Compassionate Supporters

With hopeful hearts, we are reaching out to the community for support during this difficult time. On the evening of Friday, August 18th, beloved Ohio State wrestler Sammy Sasso suffered a gunshot wound to his abdomen as a result of a carjacking.

Sammy was immediately rushed to the hospital where he underwent emergency surgery to reconstruct his colon. The following morning, he underwent another surgery to remove the bullet near his spine. As a result of the bullet’s trajectory, he sustained severe nerve damage to his spine. After spending three days in ICU, he was transferred to an acute care unit where he continues to receive care for his injuries.

Upon his release from the hospital, he will be transferred to an inpatient rehabilitation facility where he will undergo comprehensive physical therapy aimed at learning how to walk again. At this time, Sammy is unable to walk without assistance. While the doctors are hopeful that he will make a full recovery, Sammy has a long, difficult road ahead of him.

Initially describing the injuries only as "non-life threatening" was a little misleading. The clarification helps us to understand that he's going to need a lot of financial support to get through this. Could take a year or two to plateau. The GoFundMe is taking off big-time.

The 16 year old shooter was released from a youth detention facility just five days before shooting Sasso. Apparently, he wasn't properly rehabilitated.

One GIANT difference is comparing what people did illegally IN PERSON while on VIDEO TAPE and proving Donald Trump was not only the reason they went to the Capital, but he ordered and coordinated their illegal entry with specific malice and intent to SPECIFICALLY overthrow the government....

The 1st part(meaning convicting those who actually went into the Capital) is easily proven with video evidence and MOST pleading guilty (roughly 465 of the 561 found guilty and sentenced so far). To date, 978 have been charged.

With that said, would you please find me the charges and specific convictions that link the "rioters" to sedition and insurrection, while most importantly, linking them directly to Trump? I only found 2 people(Stewart Rhodes and Kelly Meggs, both leaders of Right Wing Militia Groups, neither of which do I see ANY direct link to Trump) Because, I have looked VERY HARD and all I keep finding are: obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder, entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds and forcibly assaulting, resisting, opposing, impeding federal officers.

Again, I am not even in this for the politics part. I DO NOT want him running again and would not lose a second worth of sleep if he were found guilty. I simply think he is so polarizing that, when you hate him as much as those with opposing viewpoints do, you want it to happen SO BADLY your view of the evidence is rather skewed...

Oh and edited to add: Since you brought up "long sentences" the longest so far is only 14 years and that happened because the guy had a very long, habitual record of criminal activity prior to that conviction...

Per your request:

In what way is that evidence against Trump himself? ANYONE in his position is going to say "Trump sold us a lie". But, where did he say Trump DIRECTLY sold him a lie AND told him to STORM the Capital? Mind you he actively and aggressively lead and instigated the move to tear down fencing and enter the Capital. Of course he was going to be at the top of the list for sentencing. The fact that he was a leader of "Proud Boys" didn't help him one bit either.

Still, all he did was tear down a fence and that "warranted" TERRORISM charges....

To be clear, I think EVERY ONE of the idiots that illegally entered the Capital deserve to be charged and convicted at some level.

"Tear down fencing and enter the capital." You're getting close to 'picnic' talk here. How about tear down fencing, smash windows, break down doors, vandalize the interior of the capital, break into individual offices, steal things from those offices, grab weapons from Capital police officers, attack-assault-severely injure capital police officers, directly threatened the life of the vice president, cause a delay in the nomination of electors to seat the president. Lots, lots more than just tear down fencing and enter the capital. And of course Lying Donnie Sexual Abuser sold him a lie and told him to storm the capital. He'd been doing nothing but selling them that stolen election lie for weeks and weeks and weeks. And he stood in front of all of them and said march down to the capital and take our country back. But we do agree, They are idiots and they do deserve to be charged and convicted.

But will you vote in either a primary or general election for anyone who is on record as saying they would pardon or commute the sentences of these idiots who illegally entered the Capitol?
To be crystal clear, I am 100% against Trump being the Republican Candidate. I am on the DeSantis train, even though it looks like it won't be on the rails until 2028.

But, I will say that not voting for the Republican Nominee is basically a vote for the Democratic Nominee...so, it would be VERY hard for me not to vote for him if he somehow gets through this all and is able to run.

Still, I would think he would need to pull of so many unprobable victories, in and out of court, in such a short time, that I simply DO NOT see a way where he is actually on the ballot next November...so, hopefully I won't be stuck in such a quandary!

Dude, I literally quoted the judge for what the guy PERSONALLY did to warrant such charges. You want to add the other stuff, feel free...

I voted Libertarian in 2016 rather than either major party candidate. It's called having principles rather than hedging.

Didn’t matter in the end beyond performing my #1 civic duty. My Republican district, in an agricultural county, went overwhelmingly Trump in 2016 and 2020. But my state, MD, went overwhelmingly Democrat (Hillary then Biden).

C'est la vie.
