I like Brooks, and like the way he wrestles.

BTW, did anybody else catch the announcer rooting for Dean at the end? Bizarre.

Can't they overturn that because the match would have technically been over at the end. so SV shouldnt have counted?

Good game plan by Brooks. Dean was gassed at the end. Close
Ugh, I disagree. Just because the guy is #1 seed and a stud doesn't mean strategy should be to block and, well, stall. Would have much preferred that Sammy stayed on his offense, even in a loss.

This is the reason stalling is so prevalent...we all hate it against us, but when it allows for the upset, yeeehaw!

Good work Sammy, get points on the backside.

Congrats to Gabe Dean! The guy who took a risk and shot won the match. Isn't that amazing?
Really? Brooks was the aggressor most of the match. Dean was just a little better today.

..we can only get a shot off certain ties. If guys take away our tie or our favorite shot, we have nothing.

The Kokesh upset might actually hurt the Hawks. If Evans loses to Brown, Kokesh stands in his path to get to the 3rd-4th place match.

F***ing Ohio State wrestlers keep pulling wins out of their arse. They need to stop pretending they're Penn State and start acting like they want to lose this tournament.

Courts from OSU just won. He could not place at B10 Tourny but makes National Semis. Really wish Brooks would have been in lower half of bracket. I really like Gabe Dean not afraid to shoot for a big guy.

Not against Evans.

Amazing that guy who couldn't place in the B1G trny is going to be an AA

Unseeded Courts has provided a huge boost to OSU's point total. Wouldn't be surprised if he beats #7 Brown in tonights Semis.

Courts eking his way to the semis didn't help at all.

Just goes to show, it's all about getting guys to the semis and finals.

Brooks was my upset pick of the day, but now I'm switching to Burak.

Unfortunately, as the match progressed, this is how I figured it would end. Dean is awesome, Sammy wrestled a pretty good match, just not good enough.

Dean took 1 shot (he probably should have been hit for stalling but wasn't). And made it pay off. Bummed for Sammy, he hung in there real well, but you can't score if you're not creating real opportunities.

This. I didn't get the excitement over that. If Evans is staring a 5th right in the face right now. Go get 'em tonight, Mike.

How does something like the Cornell/Kent State thing happen? An escape point not issued to the Kent State guy? That could cost the Kent State guy AA status, my god....

Pretty shocking that the Kent State coaches didn't pick up on the failure to award the escape. Also surprising that Miller didn't pick up on it. But his coaches needed to have their heads in it better than that.

Burak vs. Gadsen up now.
No score after :30.
Circling each other.
Collar ties.
Gadsen throws in an underhook. Gotta be careful. Don't want to be there with Gadsen says Ironside.
Burak has a collar tie. Gadsen tries to horse him but Burak gets away.
Burak gets in trouble after a shot but gets out of an overhook.
Martin from Ohio State loses and is out. Demas too.
They have nobody left in consolation.
End of one period no score.

He was the aggressor in that he controlled the ties and yes I realize Dean is the tough and the #1 seed but I believe in Sammy. He has the talent and the moves to take a guy down, even dean but he didn't make 1 single attempt in the entire match until he was behind. Losing is one thing but to lose without taking a legit shot when it would have mattered sucks. I

Burak starts 2nd period on top.
Gadsen escapes immediately and gets a quick TD on Nathan.
Burak escapes and trails 1-2.
Gadsen does a good job of staying out of trouble.
Gadsen shoots but Burak escapes it.
Gadsen forcing the action. Both guys making good attempts.
Burak has collar and goes for leg but Gadsen counters with a double leg. Burak in trouble and gives up TD with :01 left in 2nd period.
Down 5-1.

Courts very well could end up being the difference. He's really talented but has reliably folded on the big stage before now. I was concerned he might pick the wrong time (i.e., Nationals) to realize his potential. He's going to give tOSU a ton of points they weren't counting on, and I'm concerned those points could end up covering the margin of victory for tOSU. Hope not.
