I like Brooks, and like the way he wrestles.Originally posted by 20X:
Brooks did very well
Ugh, I disagree. Just because the guy is #1 seed and a stud doesn't mean strategy should be to block and, well, stall. Would have much preferred that Sammy stayed on his offense, even in a loss.Originally posted by Sandor45:
Good game plan by Brooks. Dean was gassed at the end. Close
Really? Brooks was the aggressor most of the match. Dean was just a little better today.Originally posted by Hercuhawk:
Congrats to Gabe Dean! The guy who took a risk and shot won the match. Isn't that amazing?
Not against Evans.Originally posted by SPOONER:
We like to talk about our guys not progressing but how about Storely? Has he gotten better in 4 years?
Amazing that guy who couldn't place in the B1G trny is going to be an AAOriginally posted by Hicksy87:
Courts from OSU just won. He could not place at B10 Tourny but makes National Semis. Really wish Brooks would have been in lower half of bracket. I really like Gabe Dean not afraid to shoot for a big guy.
Unfortunately, as the match progressed, this is how I figured it would end. Dean is awesome, Sammy wrestled a pretty good match, just not good enough.Originally posted by Guidotheguide:

This. I didn't get the excitement over that. If Evans is staring a 5th right in the face right now. Go get 'em tonight, Mike.Originally posted by CP84 2.0:
The Kokesh upset might actually hurt the Hawks. If Evans loses to Brown, Kokesh stands in his path to get to the 3rd-4th place match.
All that matters is Brown has won fairly convincingly both times this season.Originally posted by theIowaHawk:
Evans vs. Brown overall record?
He was the aggressor in that he controlled the ties and yes I realize Dean is the tough and the #1 seed but I believe in Sammy. He has the talent and the moves to take a guy down, even dean but he didn't make 1 single attempt in the entire match until he was behind. Losing is one thing but to lose without taking a legit shot when it would have mattered sucks. IOriginally posted by Guidotheguide:

All they are saying is that they are "looking through the rule book"Originally posted by hawkiz4life:
What are they going to do about that match? The Cornell Kent state one?
