Scores in the Champions League knockout round for Dortmund today at 18 years old. U.S. fans wait for the first great American soccer player looks like it might be in threat of ending soon. We've been burned many times before, but this kid is showing more than just potential. He's putting up results on the largest stage for one of Europe's biggest clubs.

Completely agree. When you watch him in the US shirt he is just a different type of player than we have had before. I believe he is the most creative player we have on our roster and I would argue he may be the most creative player we have ever had when it is all said and done.

I don't care that he is only 18. Arena needs to play and start this guy. He will obviously struggle a little bit physically in the international game, especially with the physical play in CONCACAF but that isn't enough of a reason to keep him out of the starting 11.

Um, rules!

There have been other "great" American soccer players, from Bert Patenaude, and Billy Gonsalves, Brian McBride, Clint Dempsey and (the greatest so far) Landon Donovan. I believe what Pulisic is capable of is becoming an "elite" player, as in one of the 5 best players in the world. One can make a good argument that Donovan was one of the top 10 players in the world from 2009-2010. But yeah, Pulisic has the potential to one day be on a whole other level from any American in the modern era.

A hat trick last night against Panama, and he's played well in the Prem for CCCP London. He is the real thing, but fragile, and injured too frequently.

Sounds like Pulisic wants out of Chelsea (at least while Tuchel is there), and Newcastle United wants him. The sticking points are that Chelsea may not want to part with him, so it will only likely go down if NU are willing to plunk down a fee the Blues can’t refuse for a loan arrangement. Is being THE attacking star at a mid-level EPL club like Newcastle better than being under appreciated at a big (but currently underperforming) club like Chelsea? Tuchel seems to be burning a lot of bridges.

Just get the whole of USMNT through November and let the chips fall as they do.

Everyone is going to have a lot more injuries. Usually there’s the better part of a month for players between their last club match and their WC opener. This time there’s literally a week. Just sucks for all, but that’s water under the bridge. I also noticed that everyone in European group stages is playing 2 games every single week until the WC. So CP will still get plenty of rotational minutes.

Also seems a very safe bet that Turner will be in for all the Arsenal EL matches.

Since he lost his job at Chelsea, CP needs to go somewhere else to get PT. Newcastle has more dough than any other club so why not there.

Why did he lose his spot? I've watched a bit of Chelsea this season and he always seemed to be making good things happen..

Chelsea is a hot mess right now. They need a striker and have made some poor moves over the past year. Now they are hoping for an expensive player from Spain who’s pushing mid-30s as the answer. He needs to get out of there. At the rate he’s going Tuchel won’t be there next season. New owners are going to want their guy especially if the current guy isn’t killing it.

Tuchel needs to turn things around. It seems like every player who's been with him since he's took over has regressed terribly. Meanwhile players that he has sold have been killing it. Tammy Abraham who he never played and sold scored 27 goals for Roma last year.

Havertz scored 14 goals last year in all competitions. Now is missing sitters and is creating nothing. His best remaining talent seems to be in shithousery.

Mount who was player of the year last year who had a bunch of goals and assists looks completely clueless.

Defense gives up easy goals to crap teams. Midfield can't figure out how to break a press. In fact the team does not seem to be able to win unless Kante (who is becoming less reliable with age) is playing.

He played like 20 minutes. He needs to get out in the January transfer window.

Assisting the winner, 5 minutes after coming on. Wondering when the news boss figures out he’s their best playmaker?

Lets be honest the shot was far more impressive than the assist there. At best you could say that Pulisic sucked some defenders in with his dribble, but Gallagher's shot came from out of no where.

True, but Pulisic did make an aggressive move to the box drawing the defenders to give him the space to take that shot. If he’s not able to create his own shot he’s there to create for others so he did a good job on this play.

CP needs to move on though. He needs to go to a coach who wants him and will play him. He’s not going to get minutes if he stays.
