South Dakota St QB Mark Gronowski visiting Iowa today, Jan 3. He won TWO Nattys, went 49-6 & threw for 10,330 yds & 93 TDs

If that's the case, go to the wildcat or triple option and spend the dough on the defense.

100% serious
Yeah I don’t like that number… but if people are willing to spend it I guess…
The impact of turning the offense around would be huge for recruiting and such… but you could get a guy like Pribula and still have 1.2 million left for others. Rough

We don’t agree on a lot, but I’m inclined to spend it on o line and defense
And the kicking game (not necessarily this class, but generally speaking).

Kickers/punters and even O-lineman can be economical.

So essentially, trick out the D, and go from there, should be the yearly approach

I heard from my father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate that we'll be getting an update soon.

I can’t imagine how hard it must be to recruit at NW right now. Aren’t they still 2-3 seasons away from their new stadium ready? If they get this SDSU QB over us, who has 1 year of eligibility remaining, I don’t know how that could be considered anything except a major fail for our offensive coaches, not to mention a condemnation of our offensive philosophy/reputation…
NU’s new stadium is projected to open for the 2026 season. So the high school recruits being targeted now would arrive on campus as the stadium is opening.

Gronowski to NU would have made sense because its OC Zach Lujan was OC at SDSU during Gronowski’s national championship years, but NU has already lined up a QB out of the portal—Preston Stone from SMU. NU did land an OG from SDSU out of the portal.

On X some dude says we offered 2.7 million?

If we offered 2.7 million the kid is foolish not to take it…

Well, whatever the massive price tag is, including possible future spend for other offense pieces, folks wondering about the cost of the BF experiment will finally have some perspective.

No, he’s not going to shop around. He’s made a deal with Iowa and it’s a good fit for all. He’s still looking at the NFL option, but that is not likely going to be the choice. QB1 is on the way.
I only meant he'd be foolish not to take 2.7M from anyone, not just us.
