Lester fixed Iowa's running game and the passing game while still bad was not as bad as last Year and with Brian's Players, I would say Lester was a big improvement in season 1 , I think Iowa will be a decent to good offense when He gets His guys on the roster especially QBgood points
coaching matters; hopefully Lester is as good as he appears to be
apparently coming up with a $1.5M "NIL" package for Beau Pribula was no problem for Brad/SWARM (the issue, and deciding factor for Beau came down to fit; Beau thought Mizzou was the better fit)
How long does the Brian Ferentz era haunt us when it comes to recruiting QBs and WRs?
Totally agree the offense was SO much better this season and that Lester appears to have been a home run hire.
Would you agree that Lester has one helluva a sales job to do? Because you know our competitors are telling these prospects (like Gronowski) that the Iowa offense will always be the Kirk Ferentz offense.
Passing offense was basically the same as the prior year yards wise and td wise which is bad, Lester might be a good oc with his qb only time will tell
Until Iowa has a QB who has a really good Season paired with either a really productive WR1 or a combination of WRs who collectively put up really good numbers
And if our fans think this, imagine what Gronowski and other QB prospects think (and what Beau Pribula thought)
Yes but less attempts, better YPC….they hammered the running game cause they had an AA at that position. Hard to blame them
But it was significantly more efficient. Completion percentage went from 48.9 to 62.7, sacks dropped by half (from 33 to 17), and RTG improved by more than a third (from 91.2 to 124.5). Those are all noteworthy improvements, especially considering no QB who played this season participated in spring practice (Cade did get the classroom portion and observed), and neither did the starting WRs (Gill and Vander Zee).
Consistent with what Lester said prior to the season, I think the team figured out what they were going to be good at, and focused on doing that. Lester always said that there would be aspects of the offense the team wouldn’t be particularly good at, and that pretty clearly included numerous parts of the passing game.
I’m sure the pitch Lester is making to prospects is that once we have the right QB in place, the passing game will be much better. … And telling each prospect that he is “the right QB” to make it happen.

Agreed. It takes just 1 guy to take a chance, staff to use him properly, for QB to succeed and to get out of this mess. Extremely important that they get this done, do it right and he is successful

He was fine….Sully is not the guy to turn this around. He’s a good backup, not a QB1Hell, Sully even looked good for the 1st half vs Mizzou
He's exactly what pribula was at Penn state, which is a good situational QB that is trying to play as a starter.

We already have five quarterbacks to sort out. Sully needs a little work, but he's very serviceable. The auburn kid might work out also. Shaggy shows promise, we have Jimmy Sullivan to work on and Fitzgerald's kid coming in as well.

I had a practice scheduled to work on defense before Tuesday's game but I found that to be more interesting!
Serviceable is not what we need or looking for. There’s a lot of “might” in that post….If you can get a surefire starter, you do that

* Who are the projected top two Iowa WRs and top 2 Iowa TEs next year?
* And how good can all 4 be ASSUMING we have a QB who can sling the ball with ACCURACY?
Passing game was improved just based on not every pass play last Year when Hill was in the pocket everyone anus drew up tighter than a vise grip hoping He would not fumble the game away like Minnesota and Michigan
RVZ really either needs to hit the gym hard this offseason and get much stronger and aggressive or He should red shirt, He was bullied at OSU and in the Bowl game badly so i concure Gill / Buie or Anderson and those 2 TEs barring portal adds or defections
