Iowa wins 3 games in a row, looks like they are making strides on defense and the first thing I see is somebody on this board criticizing one of our players, a kid who had went through 2 surgeries and rehab to be part of this team. Criticize Fran all you want, but quit overanalyzing the players for what you wish they would do. A true Hawk fan would support all of our players!

OMG, shut the **** up with this. I've watched and supported the Hawks all my life, but there is such a thing as fair criticism. JBo is great. HOWEVER, he is struggling with his shot right now. He has been doing better with D, HOWEVER, his top level is limited(partially due to the injuries).
All I'm saying(and I think others are as well) is spell him more with JoeT, especially when he's not shooting well.

I am totally fine with Joe T playing more- I just don't appreciate the overanalysis of Jordan!
I think the analysis is of Fran's coaching rather than JBo. Of course Jordan wants to play, and of course he wants to help his team. It's up to Fran to recognize the PT issue.
I agree the criticism is on Fran as I feel unfair playing time has cost us in a few losses but I prefer to see the glass as half....it's the optimism and excitement about the young guys that is behind a lot of these posts. I finally see a roster that has the potential to do something special, how Fran optimizes that potential is an interesting debate. I'd like to see jbo play a few less minutes even when hes playing well just to keep him fresh for March. Playing point and guarding their point is exhausting normally but especially in this grinder league

Birthhawk on point this thread. It’s never been about degrading jbo, it’s about fran recognizing certain situations in games an utilizing the personnel he has to fit those situations! The last 3 wins i think he did ok, given the other teams didn’t have overly athletic guards. BUT those games also would’ve been good opportunities to get joeT and perkins some time to ready them for when they WILL be needed.

Exactly. Nothing against Joe T, and I don’t like talking negatively about 18 or 19 year old kids, especially when they play their hearts out, but Joe has had a few bad moments in the games, but no one seems to care. I’m sure he’ll be a GREAT player for us someday, but right now he’s not our best choice in the PG position.

who thinks that? People are just asking that we play JT an extra 10 minutes a game. 5 with JBO resting (he plays too many minutes). 5 with Jbo at the 2 where he can do what he does best.
In advanced stats Jbo and JT have the highest chemistry rating of any Hawkeye duo. They have played their best minutes on the floor together.
When Joe T gets his shit together, he'll get more minutes. It's as easy as that.
Otherwise we might be seeing a lot more of Ulis.

Lol Id trade his lockdown disruptive defense for his few stupid turnovers in a heartbeat. Especially in games the other team is scoring at will. I have a very strong feeling the final loss of our season is going to come at the hands of a very good quick guard that will tear our defense to shreds. And fran will be too stubborn to play joeT because of his to’s. Already seen it more than once this yr
Nope. Not all fans are critical. I am willing to bet that there are posters on this sight that have been here for years that have never posted anything negative about the Iowa team. Once upon a time, I would to come to this sight, win or lose and while there might be a bit of critical (NEGATIVE) comments. The last few years after a loss, I generally stay away for a few days to avoid all the crap that get's posted. Now it's getting to the point where I have begun avoiding the sight for a day or two after a win to avoid the same.

I think there may be a few more examples of quick guards torching our d, than our d effectively stopping quick guards. Really hasn’t been that tough to see through the season. Yeah our m2m has looked good the last few games...but msu blows and wisc isn’t exactly known for their offensive prowess. So i’ll wait to see how they look these next few games. Hopefully they keep it up, im a little skeptical
JBo needs to show JT where to get a union card on campus. He’s allowed to make the same kind of mistakes, yet stays on the floor. His mistakes are actually worse because they’re typically from his laziness, while JT’s come from trying to do too much.
Lately a lot of posts have devolved into a few posters arguing vehemently about how Joe T should be playing more, and JoBo or CMac should be playing less. It gets old.
