Teasdale now back?

Right, so we need one on board and on red shirt next year at 49.
Brands at 57, you positive about that? I guess we'll see but I'm not convinced that's where he'll be or be most effective.
Kems a RS jr coming off 2 major injuries. You feel more comfortable with 125 and 133 or 157 and 174 over the next 2-3 years?

I feel very good about the entire line up for the next several years! 157 and 174 will be in very good hands!

That being said. When you have a kid beamed in from another planet(Lee) and a 133 pounder who goes like the Energizer Rabbit on a case of Red Bulls. It is hard to compete with that!

If Teasdale comes for minimal $, it’s a no brainer to take him. Iron sharpens iron. Maybe this year can be a medical redshirt. Transfers are always good, as they have trained on someone else’s dime already, and may bring something new.

I just don't think Nelson is tall enough to be effective @ 165. 157 is his best opportunity for next season, and that's going to be a battle.

Just in the past year Iowa tried to bring PDIII in, brought in and immediately inserted into the lineup a guy with anger issues that tried to break another wrestlers arm and then had one wrestler shoot another and then had a cover up with police. Again, you had one wrestler SHOOT another and he is still on the team competing for a spot. You would think that in itself would be enough for you and your fellow Iowa fans to realize you do not have the higher ground when discussing coaching holding their athletes accountable or doing what's in their best interests..... and if that's not enough, we can go out further then the past year and talk about the numerous arrests with no suspensions for burglary, DUIs, public drunkenness, poaching and various firearm charges.

Classic Flying Tiger...

Make a bunch of false equivalencies e.g. comparing Marion's transgressions to Long's. Then throw a bunch of anti-Iowa mud hoping some of it sticks.

Brands gave PDIII a chance if he cleaned up his act and did everything right. In his short stay with the HWC, he got into no trouble, yet he didn't get on the team.

Such harsh scrutiny for DeSanto, who reportedly is on the autism spectrum. But not a word about, say, Indiana's Oliver gouging Lee's eye and trying to tear his knee in Fri's dual.

Giving the false impression that Cael made Long straighten out before coming to PSU, when in fact, ISU demanded Long go to rehab before being allowed to wrestle. Cael said, not needed, just come on over, and welcomed Long to PSU with open arms.

You would make a great shyster lawyer FT!

Maybe a no-brainer to bring him in for a shot with a very, very short leash. But if drama appears right out of the gate, well . . . I always wonder how much that can be a distraction to a unified crew. I imagine there are situations where it isn't worth the risk. It seems like you guys have a pretty darn good thing going @ 125-133, and adding Renteria to the mix next year might give you the strongest 125-141 combo in the land.

133 is DeSanto, unless ADS WANTS to go 141, imo. He deserves to be the one making the choice. If Renteria is capable, Iowa should be set. I'm just not seeing a need for GT unless it's a way to keep a competitor from being competitive at that weight.

Desanto expressed an interest in moving up some day to 141. For that matter, JRENT apparently struggled with 133 last year, so it wouldn't be surprising to see him bump up next year. If (big if) Teasdale still has a RS year available, in theory he could have just one year overlap with the other three. Of course, it also means if you throw Murin into the mix at least one of the four (Desanto, Jrent, Teasdale) loses a starting spot. Unless Murin is able to move up to 149.

Not sure we really need him, but I never had a problem with him de-committing, he's a young kid and that goes with the territory, but I don't think he will be recapturing his HS glory any time soon.

Not that I have any real knowledge about this (or anything really, but it never stops me from posting) but it seems to me that he matured early, dominated early and his skill set peaked. I would think if his talent was at a national championship level, karl would have done everything possible to keep him in the fold at psu. While I think he was still the best 25 at psu, that's not sayng much. The have a hole there now, Teske is not the answer imo, not sure he ever sees a top 5 finish or possibly even the podium and Howard, while some suggest he is a 25, from what I see he is a 33+ going forward. So if they have a 25 that can go and score points now and in the future, pretty sure they would have worked extra hard to keep him there and keep him happy.

Prediction for 2019/2020: Lee takes an Oly redshirt next year, while DeSanto takes his normal shirt simultaneously. They push each other to unfathomable heights. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Teasdale takes 125 and Renteria 133.

Then in 2021: Teasdale redshirts. 125 - Lee (jr), 133 - DeSanto (jr), 141 - Renteria (jr).

Teasdale already took a RS and if he can’t make 125 this year, then there is no way he will make it next year.

I can’t imagine this year didn’t start his clock and count as his redshirt year but I could be wrong. And doesn’t he have to get released by Carl to be eligible next year? “IF” he is the 125 backup plan if Lee shirts, that is a pretty big release by Carl and really not in his own best interest. He might only have 3 years left of eligibility if he comes to Iowa.

This is NOT correct. He WITHDREW from school. If you watch the original video, (30 pages back now). Karl talks about it. According to him and many others who posted here. It was technically like he was never there. This would mean he still has a redshirt to burn and does not need a release either.

Can not agree with this first part. To do what he did in PA takes a lot! Also I think Cral was doing everything he could to keep him on board! The 2nd part I am on board with. I think they have some problems to address at the lower weights. Obviously with everyone leaving, that can be expected.

Not sure have this right cause all over the place..Teasdale was having trouble making wieght was missing classes so he with drew from school in time to cover up the failed classes. So he really wasn't enrolled right no credit given for being in school it is a mess but would think he still five to get four..

They were going to pull his redshirt for the Scuffle, but then didn't when his weight wasn't right. I think this year has to be his redshirt. Also pretty sure that the team did release him when they decided it wasn't going to work out, so most likely he can wrestle right away next season. If he is talking to Iowa first, I can only imagine it was a full release.. Wherever he ends up, I hope he gets things turned around.

Always thought once your were enrolled your clock started whether you “withdraw” or not.

I would be really surprised if he doesn’t only have 4 years left unless he gets a waiver from the NCAA.

I guess we'll see. Of course you have to be a good HS wrestler to win state and really good to win 4, but not all 4 timers are equal and not all pan out in college, it's my gut feeling he will be good college wrestler but not elite.

same question here or minny or pst, who is going to take his tests for him. kid is not about school.

Brands has been a full sized 165 all season and for what I have seen he appears to be getting bigger. I think there is a better chance of Young maintaining 157 for the next two years and Brands coming into 165/174 after next season. Taking into consideration that Kemdawg gets his 6th year which I’m hearing should be a given, but one never knows with the Ncaa.

So do you think he never enrolled second semester?

Again, my understanding was the “waiver” was only for the first semester. I believe PSU’s second semester classes started 1/7, and he was listed on the roster until about 1/22. So I’d have to think assuming he was actually enrolled second semester (and as I mentioned might still be), that his eligibility clock has started (although not sure how it works if it started in January as opposed to the previous calendar year).

I find it hard to believe that Teasdale’s clock would not have started. He was on the roster enrolled in school and one weigh in from seeing the mat in a psu uniform. Anyway if he has his redshirt or not I personally would not want Iowa to spend any scholly money to pull him in at all.
I also agree if Carl had seen a clear upgrade in his lineup Teasdale would have never left the building. This also does not mean he could not get to the next level and have a great career it’s whats between the ears for him that will matter the most Marsteller all over again.

i was at a taco bell one time and a guy drove into the building. i think he was drinking. thank goodness, lurch was there to take the blunt of the hit and not me. i dropped my taco :(

I drove my 1967 Mercury Monterey to Taco Bell after a night of party. Pulled into parking lot and noticed a lot of smoke coming from under the hood.

Opened the hood and the engine was on fire. Ran in yelling for a fire extinguisher and the jerk behind the counter would not give it to me!
I jump over the counter and grabbed it.

Put out the fire. Called my Dad and he towed me home. Fixed the carb leak, freed up the melted throttle cable as best I could, and drove it some more till the throttle cable snapped.

“Yeah, he could wrestle” Sanderson said, his voice rising when asked if Teasdale could compete at the Jan. 1-2 Southern Scuffle. “I think he could get back on our team maybe Saturday, once finals are over and it’s a new semester.”

Teasdale was seen rolling around with Brady Berge during Nittany Lion Wrestling Club practice on Tuesday afternoon in the Lorenzo Wrestling Complex.

Because Teasdale withdrew from school, Sanderson said there is a possibility he could get a waiver for that semester and still have a full redshirt available. He said they are working on getting that waiver.

And it is suspected that the waiver was denied -- meaning that the previous enrollment counted for "starting the clock" and that no "grayshirt" was retroactively in place for first semester. In other words, 2018-19 academic year counts as a redshirt year.

Trolls come out come out wherever you are... can one you geniuses explain why the wrestlers are employees. We are waitingo_O
Sure, every student that has a job with the University is also an employee. From the above description it appears that they both work at Sports Camps that are run by the University.
