His recruitment really picked up over the last couple of months. I was initially hoping the reason might be that they thought Teasdale could go up a weight 141.

I'm now assuming this was related to the staff fear that Teasdale would back off.

Odd that the staff would go from literally no engagement with Teske as a recruit to pursuing him hard over the past couple of months if not for the Teasdale issue.

You have no idea what your talking about. I've been there but...
What's wrong with the other thread?

Don't think coaches are allowed to contact recruits until Sept. 1st of their JR year of HS. So the last couple of months makes sense, no?

Some here had questions about Teasdales commitment I doubt our coaches were suprised over him backing out.

When did the initial communication with Teasdale begin?

Recruits can contact coaches prior to the 9/1 date. That's how Mejia and Renteria originally committed to Iowa as sophomores.

Point being between unofficial visits, Terry and Tom doing camp clinics in PA, and Teasdale able to contact the staff it's probably difficult to nail down the contact between the two parties.

My first thought when I saw that Teasedale decommitted was that it opened the door for Teske. He grew up a Hawk fan so I'd have to think we have the inside track. Seems like a high character kid.

Not sure about the inside track on teske. Have heard he was strongly considering Iowa St. before the coaching change, and now may be even more interested.

I heard the exact opposite. I think there's an appreciation for Dresser but not so much the school. I've heard similar thoughts to what CradleKing posted. I think we have the inside track if there's a good opportunity for him.

Also think a lot of any consideration for ISU had a lot to do with having 2 complete hammers committed at 125/133 to Iowa.

if I was as good as Teske, it would feel very weird knowing I was someone's second choice, and they weren't that interested in me until their other guy decommitted. Especially when there are good schools and coaches who have made him their top priority.

Big surprise! This is exactly what I would say if I were a clown fan. Unfortunately some on here haven't figured out you are a wolf in sheeps clothing.

I would understand that's how recruiting works. Almost no one, not even PSU, always gets their first choice. Most people would understand this.

I don't know about before hand but Dresser wrestled at Humboldt, and if I recall he was either born in F Dodge and has family ties there, or actually went to school there and finished st humboldt? Either way, don't discount his ability to get into FD and make an impact on Teske, or future Dodger wrestlers

Not really second choice when Iowa was recruiting him pretty hard before Teasdale decommitted.

Possibly. I know when I was recruited I could tell a big difference between the schools that were 100% in on me and those that weren't. In my personal case, I decided to go somewhere where I felt the coaches were all in and completely believed in me. It would have made me feel very weird to know I was a backup plan. I wasn't a recruit of Teske's caliber but did have multiple division 1 offers and visits.

In this situation for example, you have a coach like Schwab from the get go is all in on Teske. He tells him he wants him bad and is his 1st priority. To me, that would go a long way. Whereas Iowa was recruiting him, but from my understanding not with a lot of effort. Now all of sudden all of the other recruits (Teasdale, J Rent, Mejia) decommit and now they want me?

I don't know if Teske would think like this or not. But this is how I would have felt having been through the process.

Well, Mejia and Renteria both decommitted before Iowa was legally allowed to contact Teske so that a bit of a moot point on those two.

Although from what I have been hearing most recruits probably aren't even aware there is a timeline of when coaches are allowed to reach out to them. Basically was told that Iowa is one the few schools that follows any of these rules.

Dresser better realize what the environment in this State is regarding the best recruits. Very limited talent and three suitors. The real question for his success will can he get East coast kids to ISU?

Teske is in a GREAT situation. He likely has several very good offers in hand or coming. Good for him.

It has been proven in social media another guy doesn't follow them.

What are the National accolades of those three young men? I guess I missed it.

TIA.

My point is that KD's success will hinge on getting East coast guys to Ames.

Iowa has been his favorite school and Iowa has the superior environment to get better. It might come down to choosing the best place for him wrestling wise vs choosing the most $$$. We will see I guess. I heard his Uncle likes Iowa too if that matters. ;)
