I know Fran gives green light but Payton took some far away quick shots

Does Fran have a game plan on offense for each opponent or is it just shoot when you are open?

My point is i know Fran is not a stellar defensive coach but i question at times his offensive strategy

The problem remains defense. Way too many layups, dunks, and wide open 3s(they were missing them in 1st half). Even in the last 2 games where the Hawks hammered poor opponents, this was an evident problem, but Fran glosses over all of it as the offense was playing well. The last few weeks is exactly what Franball is. Hammer bad teams and hopes get up, then lose against better competition as the defensive lapses catch up to us.

I think we need to win one of the next 2. If we do, we are still on track for 10 wins. If we lose the next 2, we will need to win at Michigan or at Illinois, neither of which is likely.
Agree. Tuesday is massive now.

They give up when oppenent has wide open drive or shot and think they will get it back on quick tranistion offense not tonight

This is what bothers me . Everyone is evaluated based on their offense in the Fran era . If you don’t value aggressive defense , you will lose against good teams .

maybe Fran should try playing Perkins , ulis, Joe and the Murray’s for an extended period, not just when they are going for a steal while down late.

I get that they would have a height disadvantage, but I would like to see how that aggressive and quicker team looks in a 5-10 minute stretch.

All the cry baby bitches go at it here I don't care.
I honestly agree with you quite often on the off topic board….and then come on the basketball board and am not even in the same universe as your opinions on Hawkeye basketball. It’s sort of jarring.
It’s way past time for Fran to go.
