The CC Show....

They still cannot catch passes outside their reach - I counted 3 or more CC TOs last night that were ill-advised passes.

1:1 Assist/TO ratio is what kept Indiana out of the game. Note that her Olympian counterpart (IIRC) had zero TOs for the game.
So now we are talking about current Caitlin. She had an off night and still had stats most players would envy. But it was indeed a bad passing night for her. Happens. As for Collier, I don’t have a negative thing to say about her. And she’s easy on the eyes.

Collier is the second or third best player in the league. So it’s not a huge surprise that she was the best player on the court last night. She’s the best player on the court most times she plays.

Again: cherry picking one stat doesn't inform you who the best players are.

She just got outplayed last night by her teammate and an actual Olympian on the other team.

You really want to sidestep the entire Game Efficiency scores, because those dispel your argument here. 1:1 Assist/TO ratio last night probably cost them the game. If she'd been 2:1, they might have won the game. Spare me the BS that "it was her teammates' fault" - I watched numerous passes well outside their reach that should not have been attempted against an aggressive defense.
The list was less than 10 players. Ask your own questions in your own post if you want to perform your mental masturbation about something that wasn’t asked in that post.

Based on false criteria.

Now do "Top Ten Players" for fewest turnovers; tack on CC's numbers for comparison.
Use only "starters" if you want.
My question has already been answered.

Set your own criteria, do your own homework and feel free to start a thread about it or post your own post.

Not sure why you get to determine ‘false criteria’

To reiterate the list was less than 10 players.

That stat is consistent with "early season" Caitlin. And I agree, she did not have her best night.
Which, again, implies most of the early season was "not her best nights".
23 points, 8 assists, and 5 rebounds en route to being the fastest player to reach 500 points and 200 assists in W history and the only rookie to ever do so. And she did it in 29 games. I don’t know how she lives with herself.

Don’t cherry-pick individual stats like points, assists, and rebounds.

It's why I've referred you to "Game Scores", which cover turnovers, shot misses, etc.

Doesn't do a lot of good for your team if you put up 25 pts, but turn the ball over 5 or 10 times, and miss 75% of your shots...
CC was outplayed by that criteria by her own teammate last night, and by the actual Olympian (by a lot).

You will never convince me that if they’d chosen Clark over Taurasi, that they wouldn’t have won by bigger margins, and Clark wouldn’t have had better stats than Taurasi.
And, the attendance and ratings would have been better too.
The committee made the wrong choice, using the wrong metrics, and almost everyone knows it.

U should let the Lynx coach know this.

Because she apparently scouted Clark and knew if you press her hard, she hasn't fully adjusted yet. Had some bad TOs in Saturday's game, where she should have passed the ball off when the double-team was coming.

She changed her tune.

Here’s the complete list of every player in the history of the WNBA who averaged at least 15/5/5 through the first 10 games of their career:

Sabrina Ionescu
Caitlin Clark
Again: if only she'd done better before early June.

You keep wanting the TOs to not count.
They count.

You said to ask Coach Reeve, someone did yesterday and this is how she responded.
And she is indicating Clark is better.
Again, the numbers clearly show this in overall game score stats, where she is almost 2x better than the early games.

Coach didn't want a player who would just put up long 3s, but cost her team a game w/ TOs and other mistakes.

Points, assists, and rebounds also count, no matter how desperately you want to disregard them. And Clark did things even in her first few games that no one else has ever done.

Hell, even Ionescu’s 15/5/5 needs an asterisk. She injured her ankle in the third game of her rookie year and missed the rest of the season. So games 4 through 10 for her were in her second season, after she had almost a year to practice with her teammates.

Clark had about a two-week training camp and wasn’t even able to practice with her starting backcourt partner because Kelsey Mitchell was recovering from an injury.

She only averaged 6-7 to a game to start. A to is slightly worse than a missed shot.

Points, assists, and rebounds also count

Sure, but there's much more to the game than those.
Particularly when your Assist/TO ratio is bad.

It's why her early efficiency scores were not better than her peers.

Now, they are better.

In terms of end result, the primary difference between a missed shot and a turnover is that on a turnover the other team gets the ball about 100% of the time and on a missed shot the other team gets the ball about 78% of the time.

Now do "turnovers".

Not sure why, since I was just listing the tweet with the accomplishment and not really arguing any side, but I checked.

Magic was 3rd in the league in total turnovers his rookie year (behind such luminaries as Michael Ray Richardson and Reggie Theus! :) ). He averaged 4.0 TO per game in 79-80 (and 3.9 per game in his career).
Isaiah Thomas tied for the league lead in turnovers his rookie year. He averaged 4.2 TO per game in 81-82 (and 3.8 per game in his career).
Oscar - they didn't keep track of turnovers back then.

Caitlin is averaging 5.6 TO per game so far.

And yet better than an Olympic team member, actually 3 I believe

I don’t recall seeing teams awarded two points after the opposition commits a turnover
Most of them result in fast break points.

TO give your opponent a better chance at a bucket than a made basket on your end.
Literally why they made the Assist/TO ratio a statistic. And Clark's was bad on Saturday.

‘A TO is giving the other team 2 points.’
Already down to ‘most’
Certainly you have a number that supports ‘most’
Feel free to share it.

Well that was the fourth time they played each other this season and the Fever have won 2 of those match ups. But I think Minnesota had some injuries so this might be the first time they played them at full strength. Minnesota did some things to throw the whole team off their game. Remember, it wasn't just Clark who couldn't hit water if she fell out of a boat. Their entire team shooting percentage had to be really low. They were holding a bricklayers convention up there. If they play Minnesota in the playoffs they are going to have to have some answers for what they saw in that game.

You just might wanna check Magic Johnson's Game Efficiency Scores before making that comparison
(CC was not remotely close early on, and still lags at this point)
