Some knuckleheads have proposed sending him to the minors. He’ll be fine, frustrating, but fine.dude has been very mid the last few weeks
he's on my fantasy baseball roster
I don't think the worse... you can't make some of the plays he does and be the worst, but he does have issues that's for sure... and it isn't limited to the field. His bone headed base running error in the 8th was just as bad or worse than the last error he made last night. I think people just need to realize he's young and there are going to be some ups and downs with him.Is ELDC the worst defensive SS in baseball? 3 errors tonight, nearly cost the Reds the game. Feels like he loses concentration.
He shouldn't be the worst with his talent, but I'm struggling to think of an everyday SS that's worse. He makes so many bad plays in the field.I don't think the worse... you can't make some of the plays he does and be the worst, but he does have issues that's for sure... and it isn't limited to the field. That was clearly interference by EDLC, causing the fielder to mishandled the pickoff throw. They should have called both him and Candelerio out.
Just say it. Denkinger made the right call.Cardinals beat the Reds 1-0 on a sacrifice fly to shortstop Elly De La Cruz behind second base. Aggressive baserunning by the Cards. Also Contras had Elly picked off first when he he was tagged out on his hair extensions. NY overturned the call. They were wrong...

He has the highest OPS on the teamSo…when is he going to start hitting?
As a reds fan that isn't saying too much with this team...he is doing alright for a 22 year old to but to be one of the best players in the game he needs get more consistent with the bat for sure.He has the highest OPS on the team

He's always going to be a high strikeout guy he's a big dude they always do. Aaron Judge has 91 strikeouts on 352 appearances. The difference is Judge is batting 309 with 30 bombs. Elly needs to get on more when he isn't striking out. If he can get his average anywhere close to judge he'll be a monster to deal with. He's hitting .252 with 107Ks in 350 plate appearances. That's a staggering amount of strikeouts for so few appearances. You can't sabermetric your way out of Elly's shitting hitting.

No I was just comparing the fact they are both big dudes with big strike zones and their strike out numbers aren't all that far apart. I was saying Elly needs to start getting more hits when he does make contact like Judge does that's what I was saying he needs to do to get to that level. And an OBP of .431. I know you didn't just compare EDC to AJ.

The triples are always so much fun to watch. The one today he saw Soto just take one extra second to get to the ball than he should have and he just turned on the jets. I don't think anyone else in baseball gets a triple on that.
Stan Musial averaged 15 triples a season for his first 7 years. He definitely wasn’t fast but he hustled out of the box. Led the league in triples 5 times. Cruz is going to strike out 200 plus times this year. Took 7 years for Musial to strike out 200 times, by then he had over 1400 hits…
Cool story bro. Are you just now learning there are more strikeouts in the game than in the 1940s?Stan Musial averaged 15 triples a season for his first 7 years. Idk if you realize this but batting averages are down across the board. It is exceedingly rare that guys hit 300 these days. He's batting 250 with 15 bombs and 40 stolen bases. and he's 22. He'll get better he hasn't even scratched the surface yet. You act like he's hitting below the mendoza line.Nobody is saying EDLC isn’t supremely talented. Just don’t expect everyone to laud his hitting when he’s not really hitting.

I have no dog in the fight but come on, there cannot be more than a couple of MLB players with the speed to score on that last play.Haha. Like no one has ever doubled and scored after a poor pick off throw, then an infield hopper off home plate. Just regular poor play by the worst team in the N.L...
You & @Kinnick.At.Night are quite the tools aren’t ya? I’ll never forget when you didn’t know the difference between Matt & Chris Carpenter.Haha. I'm a tool cause I forgot more about baseball than you'll ever know? Hahaha...You & @Kinnick.At.Night are quite the tools aren’t ya? I’ll never forget when you didn’t know the difference between Matt & Chris Carpenter.
The only time you ever talk baseball is about the Cardinals. You don’t have the ability to talk any other team. You’d make a good Clone fan.I'm a tool cause I forgot more about baseball than you'll ever know? Hahaha...
Rule changes, timed pitches and larger bases ( shorter distance between bases ) have made it soooo much easier to steal. Ricky might have had a 100 steals by the all star game says Ricky...
15 home runs and 15 doubles? That's a big deal to you? Musial averaged 16 doubles by the all star break for 22 fricking years, including leading the league in hits 6x, doubles 8x and triples 5x. He did hit 465 home runs without even trying. Did he hit 15 before the break? Who knows? Meaningless stats like these only popped up after ESPN and Twitter clowns came on the scene...
