The Elon Musk Twitter shitshow

I think there is, and always has been, a subsection of people easily enraptured by extremely wealthy people that are egomaniacs and live large, loud lives as famous people. It is as if they somehow will too become rich if they adore them and become fanboys/ fan girls.
Elon musk personal life is boring as **** bro. Dude is a workaholic robot.

So why am I supposed to dismiss actual journalists but am to believe someone names "DogeDesigner"? Yes, I can believe that Twitter is the #1 app, but the fact that you dismiss any negative article about Elon but promote stuff from random anonymous people is ridiculous

Either a thing is true or it isn’t. I don’t think it is fair to say I dismiss just any negative article. I just know that many negative articles are written by highly biased emotional persons that at times see their livelihood and position of power being threatened.

News media industry influencers writing negative articles about the platform that threatens their job is unsurprising, in fact I see it as perfectly logical from their perspective.

However, this does inform my opinion about how much of what they say is accurate or not, look for emotionally charged language or gross exaggerations or completely unknowable/unsubstantiated claims and it is pretty easy to dismiss.

Most negative articles make no attempt to inform you at all, they simply wish to persuade or manipulate you into believing what they want you to believe. That’s all. There is no regard for the truth.

Twitter was getting scammed for $60M per year by fraudulent foreign Telecomm companies for bogus 2FA text charges. Parag and his team were grossly negligent to former shareholders.

Seems like firing their lead programmers, who would have prevented this (or were preventing it up until last year) turned out to be a dumb idea...

No this was happening pre-Elon. He identified it right away and moved to address it. Listen to the Twitter space, that was from December I think.

Uh huh. Because so much of what Elon posts is "true", Amirite?

Of course he isn’t always telling the truth, but this does seem plausible. Twitter was insanely poorly run and managed. Their internal security protocols were around a decade behind the times. When an employee brought up security concerns, they fired him and paid him like $7.5M in hush money. He went before Congress and told them all that Twitter in its then current state (~April 2022) was a National Security threat.
