The IOWA Offensive Line. We have heard how good it is.

now, how will the pass blocking be vs Ohio State in 12 days?
Cade's trip and tumble play was a good example where they overloaded a side and we didn't have like a screen pass or a quick dump to beat the blitz. At first I thought somebody just blew their assignment, but I think it was Dunker had like 2 or 3 guys coming on his side and no help.

To expect a perfectly clean pocket every throw is not realistic. A good qb is going to maneuver to a degree and we’ve only seen Cade be able to do that a limited amount.

How does Lester account for this?

Does he go all/mostly shot gun?

Do they practice even more on getting the ball out under so many seconds?

Are the deep shots going to be far and between?

I think they will try to be as ball control as possible and eat clock. Rush attempts and quick short throws. And play the field position game.

I expect a predictable boot leg, short passing game in an attempt to open up running lanes. I don’t think there’s any chance they take any deep shots. Nor do I think that’d be wise. Even if the pass pro holds up, you don’t have a qb that’s proven to have the arm to get it them.

What I’m hoping to see are some fairly quick seam or pop passes to the TE’s in the intermediate ranges to keep the safeties honest. You don’t have to throw deep routes to keep them back.

I am looking forward to watching Lester’s offensive scheme in this one. I’ve mostly been happy schematicly with what I’ve seen. I think we’ve open receivers quite a bit but Cade’s not hitting them or seeing them.

I'm paraphrasing National Lampoon's Vacation: "We'll probably keep up for a quarter or so..."

It would be a miracle if Iowa's offensive line can manage Ohio State's defense. As I'm sure you know, Fran, Iowa is not built to compete with teams like Ohio State. Even with an elite offensive line it would be a huge task. Iowa has some pieces of the puzzle but the rest were probably eaten by the dog.

Looked like a bad line call imo - 4 OL went left, the RB came over to help but there were 3 guys coming vs dunker and the back.

Started my rewatch…not that Cade was great but he threw better than I realized live - I was at the game. Pass to Wetjen at end of first half was just that little bit out of reach, Jazz had a pass he should have caught, and a couple others that could have been caught by Reece and others as well.

At the same time, full credit to Lester for adjusting at half to just leaning on the run and short passes. Minnesota was totally outmatched in the trenches.

If they can't then bet the under for every single game
I've played the over every game and won all three. The fans and algorithms have failed to grasp the significant degree of offensive improvement. The offensive may not be where we, the fans, want it to be but it is much better than the preceding three seasons.

Hayden Large and Connor Colby also putting it to them. The dude Connor Colby took out probably had the OF look on his face as he was not gonna move Colby.

In this game it seemed to me Dunker was in the whole time? Was DeJong ever in the game? We sat up kind of high so wasn't always paying as close attention to OL.

i think the only time an offensive lineman came out it was due to cramping
