Blaise Butler of Virginia, now with Mizzou, was the other big win over a 6th-ranked guy last year.
As for Meyer's placement at Nationals, I'd say it's a crap shoot, and I think a lot of it will be determined by how he does down the stretch in the regular season. If he beats Jackson of IU (in Carver, where he's made magic happen before), he goes into Big Tens with a good seed. Huge match there. If he lands a good seed at Nationals, he'll get favorable match-ups in the first couple of rounds that he should win. Get into the quarters, and who knows.
The down side with Meyer is that he doesn't rack up huge points against lesser opponents, and those matches can be scary close sometimes. However, the up side with Meyer is that he seldom gets blown out. His Midlands loss to Walters was ugly, but that was a rarity with Meyer. He's shown that he can hang with top guys and pull out wins in the end. He won't be winning any style points, but fundamentally sound grinders like him can pull off upset wins over flashier opponents. We've seen a lot of Hawks do just that over the years.
I still think Alex AA's this year. Probably won't score a single bonus point in the process, but I think he gets it done.
