This might be a little tougher than Putin thought...

"NATO and Russia are playing naval battle in the Baltic Sea. Simultaneous exercises remind us how much this sea has become a disputed strategic point with the war in Ukraine and the Swedish and Finnish candidacies for NATO."

"Ukraine's position in Sievierodonetsk Despite being heavily attacked, the Ukrainian warriors did not retreat. Fight your heart, hehe."

Same video with different description.
"#Ukraine: Fresh Western-supplied weapons continue to be used by new Ukrainian armoured units- here we see UA forces using Polish T-72M1[R] tanks (Which have been upgraded with Kontakt-1 ERA) and Dutch YPR-765 APCs together during training."

I'm not a big Borris fan, but I'm worried about whether replacement will be a Ukraine supporter.
Based on these polls, they loathe Russia and are pro Ukraine so I doubt a replacement is going to buck that trend....Russia has a 7% favorability rating vs 74% unfavorable.

I think the part of the equation that’s missing in the analysis of casualties ect is accurate Ukrainian military losses. I’m thinking they’re probably higher than reported which is understandable.

It’d explain the disconnect with what we’re seeing in the static nature of the conflict at the moment.
Oh we absolutely know that Ukraine is losing good men and suffering high casualty numbers as well. That's why all the commentary is about whether Ukraine can hold out until around late August/early September when the arms race will turn. Russia can afford to just throw people into the meat grinder, Ukraine cannot which means that they have to be very selective and willing to play the long game in the battles they face and the villages/cities they fight over. For now they just need to keep playing defensive, slowing Russia's advance, letting Russia use up as much of it's weaponry as they can. At some point the continued influx of western weapons will outlast the Russian weapons. The question is whether the soldiers can. They definitely have a lot more to fight for and will, I think, fight to the death whereas at some point I think Russians are just going to refuse to fight anymore. But it's going to be a rough few months.

The Pinzgauer is a family of high-mobility all-terrain 4WD and 6WD military utility vehicles. The vehicle was originally developed in the late 1960s and manufactured by Steyr-Daimler-Puch of Graz, Austria, and was named after the Pinzgauer, an Austrian breed of cattle. Wikipedia

New tractor video! :)

"Velyka Novosyolka, Donetsk region The soldiers of the Dnipropetrovsk Territorial Defense have captured another armored personnel carrier."

Never mind - another thread said this is the one in Ukraine, not Russia;(
BUT this makes it sound like it is Ukraine attack-signed, confused.
"In the Biełgród district, in the area of the "Dubravushka" sanatorium, you can now hear explosions. They are caused by a fire in the building. Ukrainians are working."

Boycott Germany!

"Sources close to the government say there is concern that Ukraine could become overconfident if it experiences a string of battlefield victories and rolls into Russian territory – which would mean that German tanks would once again be inside Russia," reads the report.

"It is a concern that highlights a certain distrust in Berlin of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. And that, too, is a reason why the defense industry in Germany has not been authorized to deliver battle tanks."

The Russian government plans to allow ships carrying grain supplies to leave the port of Odessa in Ukraine, according to a report, easing a blockade that has triggered fears of widespread shortages and hunger.
The Russian leadership has agreed with Kyiv and Ankara on a scheme to release grain shipments from Odessa, which has been subject to a blockade, the pro-government Izvestia reported, citing government circles.
"In the territorial waters of the neighboring country, Turkish military forces will take over the demining and they will also escort the ships as far as neutral waters," Monday's report said.
Russian warships would then escort the vessels carrying grain to the Bosporus.
The step comes as food prices soar after Moscow's war on Ukraine led to massive turbulence on world markets. Ukraine is one of the world’s largest grain exporters, and the collapse in its deliveries following Russia's invasion has hit African countries hard.

Russian President Vladimir Putin recently received President of the African Union and Senegal Macky Sall to discuss the issue.
While Putin denied Russia was responsible for the high prices, he said he was willing to facilitate grain deliveries.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is expected in Ankara on Wednesday for talks on the issue. After the talks, the scheme to release grain from Odessa is expected to be officially approved, the newspaper said.

Hungary has been showing a scary turn towards nationalism and authoritarianism for several years. It's obvious that Russia has managed to infiltrate their government in the same way it's been trying less successfully in America, France, and Germany. We have got to begin truly calling out Russian trolls in our government because this is where things can head if we're not careful.

Yes, Russia once again lobbed missiles at Kyiv, but their assault has been ineffective and disjointed. Weapons are getting into Ukraine unimpeded. The #2 military in the world cannot project air power more than a few miles past the ground their troops occupy.
The Snake Island stuff is very important. Russia is committed to holding that for a world starving reason.

I think Snake Island will be a graveyard for the Russians-those MLRS systems should be able to barrage it without too much difficulty. IMHO it seems its importance is more symbolic than real-so far it appears naval forces are required to hold it and if you have those forces you don't need the island:)

Grow that bulge. (Insert The Office reference here?)

This is evil but the panic in Russian forces is a good sign.
Nothing can surprise me out of Russia anymore. They are the worst. I think at this point, the only thing that would shock me was if they were harvesting Ukrainians not for forced organ donations, but for meat to consume.
