Trump declares himself Dictator

In his “Letter from Birmingham Jail,” Martin Luther King said we have a duty to disobey unjust laws. "I would be the first to advocate obeying just laws. One has not only a legal but a moral responsibility to obey just laws," he wrote. "Conversely, one has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws. I would agree with St. Augustine that 'an unjust law is no law at all.'"
What the hell is wrong with you?

You're comparing an otherwise powerless preacher who advocates non-violence and sitting in a jail for disobeying laws that he believed to be unconstitutional and that even you would almost certainly grudgingly agree were repugnant (although in our new fascist era you may be feeling the freedom to show your true colors) with a President of the United States with all the levers of state power announcing he is above the law?

Again, WTH is wrong with you? How phucking dare you? You've got a President here asserting dictatorial powers, this isn't America anymore, it did happen here.

Just a simple preacher? LOL, please.

He was the lightning rod of the civil rights movement and the defacto leader.

He wasn't just talking about his own fate. He was inspiring all his followers to disobey unjust laws.

And what the hell does that have to do with a President of the United States asserting he's above the law?

MLK was trying to change unjust laws through the legislature and the courts, according to the rule of law. That was why he was willingly and without complaint residing in a jail cell when he wrote that letter.

How phucking dare you try to compare his non-violent civil disobedience campaign with a tweet by a wannabe Hitler. Eff you for that. Eff you.

Do understand that "Tradition Manor" is embedded somewhere in Trump's transverse colon. That view every day would phuck anybody up.

Trump is simply trying to rein in government largesse from the executive branch. That doesn't make him a "Hitler"... it makes him an executive.

Not sure why everyone assumes the courts should have the last word in a government that's supposed to have three equal branches, not two plus a "supreme" one.

WTH are you even blabbering about?

Are you unaware that what Trump posted is literally a Napoleon quote about how ending democracy was legitimate?

Then do it through Congress. He appointed a foreign born billionaire and gave him total access and power. That's not how our Government should work.

If you truly believe that, you’re in for a real awakening. They’re coming after anyone they deem as a parasite. And you aren’t in their club.

Weird you chose a black man to make a false equivalency. Bigot. GFY.

You get what you vote for. Trump has always been very clear about his love of dictators. And his contempt for our Constitution. Fvck any MAGA that pretends to be shocked during the next four years
They aren't going to pretend to be shocked, they're going to support it (at least until he/it comes for them). See Trad in this thread.
