Trump Forces Israel To Ban Visit By Omar and Tlaib

No really it is. He's bowing to the wish of a foreign leader. Tha's pretty damn weak.

Let's Israel is bowing to Trump ornis deciding not to let a couple Muslims in that have been aggressive towards their country and would simply use entry as a way to create propaganda against Israel.

The Antisemitism in this thread is astounding, yet not surprising.

And a little known fact is there are Muslims serving in the IDF. Christians too.

So Israel bans Tlaib and Omar, Tlaib appeals to be able to visit on humanitarian grounds to see her ailing grandmother, Israel says, sure, no problem, and now Tlaib says never mind I’m not going.

Israel and Trump created this mess, but now Tlaib is trying to exploit it. I guess she thought Israel would turn down here second request.

A pox on all their houses.

Why did Israel bomb the USS Liberty and kill 34 Americans?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Liberty_incident

I was never satisfied with the Israeli explanation. Their sustained attack to disable and sink Liberty precluded an assault by accident or some trigger-happy local commander. Through diplomatic channels we refused to accept their explanations. I didn't believe them then, and I don't believe them to this day. The attack was outrageous.[73]
Why can’t you keep one handle? You flog the USS Liberty incident relentlessly.

Anyone else think that part of this drama was to turn attention away from a tanking stock market and Ken Cucinelli bumbling his way through several interviews?
If the ratings are bad, then jazz them up by dragging in someone that activated the triggered base?

Point taken. Donald Trump has never done something outrageous like attack the Pope in order to turn a news cycle. Sadly for you, this leaves the other possibility that Trump is just a tiny, petty man who does not appreciate our shared norms and values. Someone who doesn’t get stuff like balance in foreign policy or has an appreciation for other opinions. It’s all about his gut feelings and his constant airing of grievances.

It's apparently a white privilege, flyover state thing.

Yet they laughingly refer to themselves as "Progressives".

Do you mind pointing out the astounding examples?

To add on to your unrelated fun fact, there are also Druze and Bedouins in the IDF.

Lots of accusations thrown out in this thread first about the congresswomen then about fellow posters. With all this "proof" on the internet and here in this thread it shouldn't be that difficult to back up those accusations. Yet, Thorne's request has been answered with silence.

It just looks terrible on the United States. I would feel the same if Trump planned a diplomatic trip to Zaire and our congresswomen would say that since he hates black people (actually more evidence of this) he shouldn't be allowed in.
It's already being done to Trump in the US

Maybe the situation would improve if every member of Congress took a trip to Gaza or the West Bank. Junkets to Israel are nice, but perhaps getting on the ground and talking to some Palestinians might provide a pathway to negotiations and a lasting peace?

the conditions on the ground are not the fault of the the Jews. There the fault of Palestinian leaders who hate Israel more than they love their people.

I can read, Skippy. ‘Proof’ isn’t needed.

Are you able to share what you've read with the rest of us so we can understand what you see as antisemitic? All I've asked for is examples of statements or behavior that demonstrate hate for Jewish people or the country of Israel from the Congresswomen or posters in this thread.

You definitely have a screw loose.

You definitely do not seem to have a problem with that chant.

vs. reposting Op Eds that won't provide actual quotes from the Congresspersons in question, but then attribute other statements they didn't even make as "anti-Semitic" and claiming they are the same.

I'd say that's a "you" problem.

Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Rep. Eliot L. Engel (D-N.Y.),
Rep. Nita Lowey (D-NY)
The organizations praised both Pelosi and Engel for being swift in their earlier denunciations of Omar's smears against Jews and Israel advocacy groups.

The Jewish groups do not buy Omar's apology for a recent tweet alleging pro-Israel members of Congress take their marching orders from the Jewish state. "Even after her ‘apology' for her anti-Semitism, she went on to speak at a forum together with well-known anti-Semites who have known ties to terrorist organizations and those who seek harm to the Jewish people and the destruction of the State of Israel," they write.

There's nothing in that link directly attributed to them that is anti-Semitic.
Just regurgitated nonsense.

Meanwhile:

JEWS WILL NOT REPLACE US!!!!

(that's just "good people on all sides"....)

Can't imagine they would want to come to Iowa so you are probably safe. Maybe for vacation though....

Thank you RTM for your response. I appreciate you answering my question.

I am aware of Omar's Tweets that were viewed as offensive because of anti-Semitism tropes. I know that she apologized and the House passed a resolution to condemn "anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, racism and other forms of bigotry" in response to her tweet. I understand "It's all about the Benjamins baby" was viewed as stereotyping of Jewish people and money. I'm not disagreeing with those that find it offensive, I'm just not seeing where that tweet says that Omar hates Israel or Jewish people which is what President Trump stated in his tweet.

Likewise, the things "attributed" to them in the Op Ed were never said by them at all.
They were simply Straw Man arguments, claiming "well, this is basically the same thing they said, and it's clearly anti-Semitic". When, it's clearly not the same thing.

I assumed you were.

As the gif implies, you should stick to chicken or fish type discussions.

Let’s take a closer look at the anti-Semitism controversies surrounding Donald Trump.

Slurring Jon Stewart, Trump accentuates the comedian’s original Jewish name.

On April 24, 2013, Trump seems to go out of his way to highlight the “Daily Show” host’s Jewish background, tweeting: “I promise you that I’m much smarter than Jonathan Leibowitz — I mean Jon Stewart @TheDailyShow. Who, by the way, is totally overrated.”

Trump tells Republican Jews: ‘I don’t want your money’

In a speech in Washington to the Republican Jewish Coalition last December, Trump appears to traffic in stereotypes about Jews. “You’re not going to support me because I don’t want your money,” he told the Jewish audience. He also says, “Is there anyone in this room who doesn’t negotiate deals? Probably more than any room I’ve ever spoken.”

Addressing American Jews on Saturday in Las Vegas, President Donald Trump casually invoked the anti-Semitic trope of dual loyalty by referring to Israel’s leader, Benjamin Netanyahu, as “your prime minister.”

Given that Trump was speaking to Jewish Republicans — including Sheldon Adelson, the American casino magnate who is one of Netanyahu’s biggest donors — the president was not wrong to assume that the crowd was strongly pro-Israel, but the accusation that the loyalty of non-Israeli Jews to their home countries is somehow suspect has a long, ugly history.

Later in his address to the Republican Jewish Coalition gathering, Trump referred a second time to American Jews as if they were Israelis by saying that a victory for Democrats in the 2020 election “would cripple our country and very well could leave Israel out there all by yourselves.”
