The weight gains don’t seem to be “up” to previous years levels. It’s got to be hard pushing yourself without others side by side. There are some that disappointed a bit, but I obviously don’t know what the individual goals were. Back on campus soon and time to eat up guys.

I gotta think not having meal access was a factor this year.

Jestin Jacobs "up" to 228 is mildly disappointing.

I know he's not expected to be a heavy contributor this year as a #Fr, but he's a stud and I expect him to see action. 235-245 is the optimum weight for playing LB in this conference. I'm sure he can add 5-7 more good lbs before camp starts.

I notice there is no #0 listed. It is my understanding that this will be a legal number this year.

Also, looking at the university's website (https://hawkeyesports.com/sports/football/roster/), they've got Luke Lachey listed for #24. Surely this is a mistake, as 24 is retired for Nile Kinnick. (Blair's link has Lachey wearing #85.)

They also have 4 guys listed for #1. (And 3 for several other numbers.)

Yeah, in many cases HawkeyeSports.com is just listing the #s guys got to wear on their recruiting visits.

We already know most of their real numbers from interviewing them this past month so our link is the best resource for that right now.

I assume so. That's when they would have normally given us a new roster and depth chart is just before spring ball. Players haven't been back inside the facilities since mid-March. Will be again on June 8th.
So will there be another update in a week or so?

Goodson to 200
and Byrd to 217
Makes me very happy with the skilled beasts nature of the RB room

Lee to 270 makes it obvious why he’s now DL
Think he’ll make the rotation somewhere.

Linderbaum only up 2 lbs to 290 is somewhat disappointing

Linderbaum is listed at 288. That's not bad for a center, and he is exceptionally strong and mobile at that weight and 6'3".

I think for him the only significance of the all important 300 number is draft status. Any former Oline guys that can chime in here? How much weight can technique and tenacity make up for?

Not really. Lindy is a beast. When James F. was on some all conference lists, he was never much over 280 at best. Playing center is more about quickness and leverage, and smarts.

Only 5lbs lighter than Anthony Hitchens was at the NFL combine.

We all know how well Linderbaum can block. I am happy to see his weight listed at 288 as that makes it more likely he sticks around for another year. I doubt an OL at that weight projects into the top few rounds, no matter how good.

Not unless we're talking about the 1985 draft.

For reference: Trevor Matich

Blair, I love these updates!.
Most of us know who Dillon Doyle & Riley Moss are and what positions they play, I can only assume very few know what position is played by Louie Stec and Kyler Fisher.

Any chance on future updates you could put DL or DB by their names?

Thanks for all the info you provide.

Glad to see DeJong and Ince over 290----look for both to be solid #2s, same with Schulte on the DL. The Killer Ps at fullback are both big boys and should hand out some serious punishment! I was also hoping Evans might be in the 250s so he might become an every down backup option, but I think he will do quite a bit of damage on 3rd downs alone.
