A few notes:

These are 1 match finals.

Winners at all 10 weights will earn a spot at Final X

61, 92, and HWT will have another tourny next month(WTT Challenge) to determine 2nd spot at Final X. The other 7 weights all have returning World medalists sitting in Final X

The World team allows 3 wrestlers per weight. Because of this, there may be a "true 2nd" in certain cases. For the 7 weights that already have a medalist sitting, the Open is used for determining the top 3 wrestlers. 61, 92, and HWT will be decided after WTT Challenge. True 2nd only occurs if the 3rd place finisher and 2nd place finisher did not wrestle each other. The true 2nd match would take place during Final X.

One last thing, if any of the top 3 wrestlers listed above is age eligible, they would be offered the U23 spot.

How does this play into the Olympic team? Does it all repeat before the 24 Olympics?

There will be an Olympic Team trials tourny next year to decide the Olympic team. Completely separate process, but making World team this year(and medaling) gives a wrestler a huge leg up(pass to semis/finals) for the Olympic qualifier.

*assuming that the process is the same as last Olympics

Olympic Trials in April 2024 in State College, PA.

No US Open.

Challenge tournament on Day 1 determines one finalist at each weight class.

At this point, the 2024 Olympic Games Team Selection Procedures have not yet been finalized and approved.

What happened at 65Kg with Bartlett and Lee? I watched last night and Bartlett won on criteria- ref raised his hand and both wrestlers left with Bartlett declared the winner. Was there a protest or something that overturned it?

A correction was made at some point afterward. Lee actually held criteria, but scoretable mistakenly marked it for Bartlett. Ref didn't catch it in real time, but was fixed later.

Anyone else believe Desanto wins it tonight? Vito is so quick but I think Desanto wins with defense, strength and stamina.

Mat assignments pretty easy tonight.

1st - 1
3rd - 3
5th - 5
7th -7

Richards/Suriano up now

Not a fan of the camera angle, btw

No score, Suriano on clock. Nothing, 1-0 Richards. No change. 1-0 Richards at break

2nd period

Richards attemts a single, Suriano counters and scores a pushout 1-1

Shit, lost feed for a minute. 3-1 Suriano

Td Richards 3-3, Short time and Richards holds criteria. Richards fends off the attack and is heading to Final X

So my connection sucks tonight. Anyone able to step up and give some updates?

DeSanto vs Vito

Vito keeping his distance.
Arm drag to a single leg TD for a Vito. Straight to a leg lace and over. 10-0

Thanks for taking over @Aleric1

Have dropped the feed 3 times already, so giving updates would be just as spotty

Vito a nightmare matchup for anyone at this point. Length, strength, next level quickness and technique. He wasn't going to let Austin get ahold of him.

Berger with last second td. Leading on criteria 9-9. Sasso corner challenges, but looked like a clear td to me. Call confirmed, Berger wins 10-9 after failed challenge.
