WBB Recruiting 2017 and On

The early signing period begins on November 8th.
So far, three 2018 verbals:
Monika Czinano , 6-3 C/F Mn
Kate Martin, 6-0 G Il
Logan Cook, 6-1 F Iowa City

They have 10 scholarship players this year (plus a walk-on). They lose two (Chase and Carly). That means they have 7 total to give. So with the three listed there are 4 more available. With Megan, Hannah, and Tania as JRs this year that will open up 3 more for 2019. They have one verbal, Megan Meyer.
If they take one more this year it will leave 5 for 2019. Lower that by 1 if Zion gets a scholarship.
Even though they CAN have 15 on scholarship, they usually leave two open for a roster of 13.

No one wants to play here. They can't give their scholarships away. Out of that list reported about offers out, I would guess not one will go to Iowa. They should be able to find a few relatives or former Iowa players that have kids that will reluctently send their kids there.

Yep, I heard that the team is really a front group for an ISIS cell which has been hoping to get access to the softball and tennis teams. Apparently, a couple of the starters were spotted in downtown Raqqua, Syria when that city was retaken last month! Non posters must have the same info!!!

Is Tomi Taiwo the only offer left outstanding for 2018?

He's like a bad penny.

The last thing anyone visiting campus should do is rely upon comments made on this forum, especially those provided by obvious trolls. If one is inclined to do so, her judgement is too poor to survive college in any event. That said, playing for Iowa presents an opportunity for a great and winning experience. I am sure "non poster" would agree that "fit" with the other players and the coaching staff is a very important first consideration!

The only announced one I saw. There could be more that are quiet.

You certainly have an ax to grind, as 39 of your 40 overall posts on this board are related to WBB and of those 39 I'm guessing 100% are criticizing the program in some form or fashion. Do everyone a favor and go find another board to post on. You hide behind a screen name and hurl accusations and criticisms at the WBB program like a coward. Stand up and reveal who you are and why you're so jaded, we would probably see your disgust with the program is born out of jealousy or resentment based on a past rejection of some sort, whether it was you personally, a family member, etc. Either way, why not just move on and find another board to post on?

Y'all recognize him as a troll, and then do exactly what a troll wants.
Give him attention.

Gabbie Marshall 2019 5'9 PG from Cincinnati, OH commits to Iowa. Had offers from Xavier, Marquette, among others. Blue Star says "she's a pure shooter, smart defender, athleticism, & a high basketball IQ making her the complete package." Comes from the same high school as former player/now DOBO for Iowa Kathryn Reynolds.

You are a step ahead of me Jockos! Gabby had been previously mentioned here before as a player of interest, but her offer had not known, at least to me. She joins Megan Meyer in the 2019 class.

Gabbie's MND (Cincinnati) team won a state title last year, MND's first since 2009, when soph Kathryn Reynolds led them to their sixth straight. Kathryn hit the game winner as a FR in 2008. Kathryn tore her ACL as a JR and the streak ended.
By the time Gabbie was a FR she could already score with either hand, play great defense, and shoot with range and accuracy. Iowa has two very good guards set for 2019.

It's interesting how no journalists look at the public visit lists for women recruits visiting. I wish the locals would celebrate women's basketball.
Yeah, for the most part they ignore visits. There were other good recruits in town this weekend. I'm always reluctant to throw out names for a couple of reasons. First, the coaches seem to want to keep the info on the down low, and second, not being sure if the interest is mutual.

There was a recruit (not Gabby) at the men's game Friday. Interacted with the players and coaches. Seemed to be in the 5'8" range.

It looks like Ally VanTimmeren was also a visitor:

6’2” W from MI

@2021avantimm

Can see photos she posted from the visit. Two other recruits in the photos, but I don’t know who they are. One of them may be Gabbie.

WBB: Tomi Taiwo, 5-9 G/W, Carmel HS (IN), has announced her commitment to Iowa; 4th 2018 commit for the Hawkeyes

That probably fills the 2018 class.

Tania and Alexis Sevillian also mentioned medical fields. The University of Iowa in the biggest teaching hospital in the US. Also a function of the type of recruits the Hawks go after. Always a lot of academic All B1G student athletes.

A couple future possibilities:
Isabel Rohlfing, 6-1 2020 Mo.
Jordan Meulemans, 5-7 2022 WI

Didn't someone mention a Washington 2022 recruit already with a scholly offer?

There is interest from Jordan, but it is still early. She is a 2019.
