WBB Recruiting 2017 and On

I hear Megan Meyer, Mackenzie's younger sister, now has an offer from Iowa.

I've been wondering about her. I remember the announcers were saying she was better than Mackenzie during the state tournament a couple of years ago, whether accurate or not.

Caitlin Clack seems to get a lot of attention here. Other than being an instate player, is there any particular reason for the attention she is getting?

Caitlin ClaRk is one of the best players in the country in the 2020 class. Being chosen for the Olympic team is a HUGE honor, considering she was competing against girls a class ahead both in making the team and in Argentina. All the "elite" schools will be in on her before her recruitment is over. A point guard just shy of 6'0 who can shoot well beyond the 3 and passing may be her biggest plus. I "hear" Texas has offered and absolutely covets her. Hopefully, she chooses to stay close to home. Drake, Iowa, and Iowa State have all offered.

Bre Cera transfers: Word is the climate with the team is intolerable. Nice kids like Bre, and Whitney just don't fit with the nonsense.

More non posters BS.
Caitlin made the 16U USA team, not the Olympic squad.
She will have a bunch of offers.

Ally VanTimmeren a 2021 6'2 Wing/Forward out of Michigan received offer from Iowa today. Was invited to the U-16 National Team trials this year & plays for the Michigan Rage AAU program.

Ally Van Timmeren – 2021 – Allendale, Minn. – Interior presence…Good strength…Will post and repost…Strong on offensive boards…Some ballhandling
Lefty…Very good athlete…Lean and long…Plays hard and does extra…Very coachable…Handles the ball…Passes it well…Smooth pull up and three point look…Attacks the basket with long strides…Plays D…Rebounds …Competes often and aggressively… Must get better finishing with her right hand…Uses pivot well to go left…Understands the game and asks questions…Clear top tier potential

My bad, yes the 16U USA team. Thanks for correcting me. And remember, Indianola NOT in the CIML.

What position does she play Oak? Says she's a forward but listed at 5'8 on another site. Guessing a combo guard/smaller wing type of player.

Saw her listed as a 5-9 PG for her HS.She was their all-time assist leader. Probably a wing or combo for Iowa.
Indiana had a loaded HS class this year, and she was in the top 6 before the injury. It is encouraging that she played the second half of her Sr year. She should be ready for the fall.

Megan hits a three to send the game to OT after Makenzie had fouled out. She continued to score and they won.

She is a 2019.

I'm guessing that Zion will still happen as a walk-on. she is going through the process. The coaches like to get the players input on additions to the team. If she bonds with the team through scrimmages, I imagine she will get the OK.

So, they are scrimmaging away from CHA without coaches - maybe at the fieldhouse? One of the high schools (is Liberty's gym ready?), perhaps North Liberty?

Is it a rule that they can't scrimmage at CHA? Wasn't a practice facility part of the remodel?

Yeah, there is a nice practice facility with two full size courts. Also they retained the ability to retract the bottom few tiers of seats in the main arena and put extra panels in the floor for two courts there. Guessing the away-from-CHA thing is to keep the coaches from having excessive contact. Bluder has already said it's legal for these summer scrimmages to be open to the public, it's just not allowed to publicize it. :(

Wasn't she in that picture, with an Iowa shirt on like the others?

From her video she runs the floor well, has a big wingspan, can handle it a little.
Most of her scoring is inside as a back-to-the-basket post. Lots of International competition. Excellent student.
I was hoping, as a Euro post, she would have shooting range to three, but the highlights don't show it. She will need to get stronger.

I see there are a bunch of Club National Championship games on youtube from 2017. the highlights are from a year earlier.

Google Paula Valino basketball and there is a video of her shooting 3 pointers. I don't know how to post it.

I watched most of the Spain-Germany game from 2017. She has improved a lot from the 2016 highlights video.
Runs the court very well. A good passer. Plays good defense. Can handle the ball.
She sot some mid-range jumpers. Good at the FT line. She keeps the ball up high after rebounds , like Megan does.
The game was very physical and she handled that part with no problem. She has gotten bigger and stronger in the last year. Quicker and more coordinated too.
I like her game.
